Nose: The first impression is floral, fruity and loaded with ripe roasted agave. Second layer holds a bit of lactic nuance, light vanilla and earthiness. Some nice spices accompany the other aromas. Flavors: Silky and slightly salty mouth feel. Buttered carameled nuts. Popping pepper, spices and anise. Creamy! Finish: White pepper heat is held at bay by the sweet agave and the velvety mouth sensation.
This XA has a light copper color. The nose is sweet, literally. I smell sweet agave, butterscotch and some light barrel notes. I also smell some sweet citrus. I first taste cooked agave and oak. I then taste some orange and white pepper. The finish isn’t long but it dangerously smooth. Overall I’m impressed by the Ryno offerings, I haven’t tried the Reposado yet. This would be a good tequila to win over your whiskey or rum lovers. ¡Salud!
Consistent with the rest of the line, but deeper caramel and chocolate notes. Pleasant.
Tastes like Don Abraham. Sweet, mature agave, nice mouthfeel, short, peppery finish that lingers.
We sent 4 new-to-market reposado tequilas to our tasting panel to get their opinions. They were selected because of their different flavor profiles, and because we think they are good quality tequilas worthy of consideration.
