A funky malolactic nose, unlike any of the other samples. There is some cooked agave behind the nasal funk along with hints of citrus and minerals. In the mouth there is a nice herbal element and some nice viscosity giving great mouthfeel. Finish lingers and as it fades makes me want more to extend the experience. Tasted blind and rated #2 of the HP samples

tmm hp blinds tasting Oct 2024 let this open for 30 mins! at first i didn't care for the nose = funk, pepper, sulfur, alcohol, malolactic. as it opened, it got better, and the 2nd time I tried it, I got some sweet agave and anise on the palate.

Blind: Earthy, vegetal, mineral with a bitter note and a pretty long finish. Not my favorite aroma but flavor is pretty good and price is nice.

Nose is earthy and vegetal. I get green pepper and jalapeño. Orange rind and honey. On the palate it is very nice with cooked agave and honey. I get a little pepper and some mint. The ABV works really well with this tequila. This has a nice finish and I would recommend and drink this again.

Excited about this brand! Sampled at a bottle share, and a newer brand like this is easy to get lost with many bottles being shared. However, Almatitan is packed with cooked agave, and it stands out.

• Visual: Clear w/ thin clear edge • Initial Nasal Impact: Prickle • Aroma: Cooked agave, clementine, spearmint, pepper, spicy honeydew • Mouthfeel: Coating and soft w/ generous alcohol • Flavor: Cooked agave, spearmint, honeydew with Mikes Hot Honey, pear with cinnamon • Finish: Great balanced med - long finish. The mint, Mikes Hot Honey on honeydew really hit on the retro nasal. Balanced and harmonious

Nose is a bit funky to me, with some earth and wet cement, but also some musty wet-dog and a touch of alcohol. Bright and clear in the glass with very nice tear adhesion. Silky mouthfeel. Mildly sweet on the palate with vegetal and citrus tones. Finish is long and dry with a peppery-spice bite.

Campo: El Cerrito 23, edición 001, LOTE 48BAL01, tasted on 8-24-24. Aroma: raw agave, herbaceous, acidity, light citrus, light earthiness, lemon, light orange, hint of chili spiciness, light minerality, light sourness. After 20 minutes in the glass a hint of lactic note emerges. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, herbal & mineral notes are quite dominating which makes it feel slightly harsh, light white pepper, citrus. Finish is medium to long, raw agave, citrus, light earthiness & herbaceous notes persist.

What a great tequila, straight off you get sweet cooked agave, minerality, and a nice floral citrus finish. Well done Tino.
