An outstanding extra Anejo from Felipe, solid flavors, agave forward, lingering finish. Looses a point or 2 for price ($600-$1000) Only 1000 bottles produced, great wood box / presentation

Excellent! The nose is fruity and very inviting, not over-oaked. I tasted more fruit—probably dried cherries or plums, along with leather, cinnamon, and slight bitter oak. Sweeter vanillas and caramels are hardly noticeable. It’s actually quite light for its age. Rare special release comes with a HEFTY price that knocks points off, but otherwise a delicious XA.

Fortunate enough to have tried this along with Felipe & Oscar at El Pandillo. Aroma: NOM 1579 fingerprint with a touch of mastery and legendary elegance. Initial notes are floral, fruity and vintage (think of an old cellar) As soon as you serve it you can indulge in the aroma with harmonious nuances of red dried fruits (cherry and raisins), vanilla, caramel, cajeta envinada, walnut shell and oak. Accompanied by rancio oak notes (oxidized tannins) that will take you to when you walk down to El Pandillo's cellar. Taste: Agave sweetness crafted by nuances of vanilla, butterscotch, baking spices (nutmeg, clove, slightly cinnamon, and allspice). Mid way you will find notes of flowers, red fruits (dried cherries), and citrusy lingers of orange peel and bitterness of grapefruit, along with white pepper and clove spiced sensation. At the end, vintage flavors of tobacco, leather and barrel spice will mellow down the previous rollercoaster. Great XA and looking to get my hands on a bottle soon!

Was lucky enough to try it at El Pandillo with El Ingeniero Felipe Camarena and it’s staff. It definitely is another outstanding solid creation out of NOM 1579. On the nose, sweet cooked agave, lightly citrusy fruity, light caramel (cajeta), oak, matching the pállate. With a long delicious finish.

Floral and fruity with hints of spices and citrus peel zest. There is leather or tobacco leaf. The barrel influence is vanilla with nutmeg. Bittersweet, long, finish with some of the familiar G4 pepper still standing after 6 years underground at El Pandillo.
