As far as aged Tequila this is damn near perfect, salted caramel and still some agave on the background which surprised me. This is a slam dunk for the Cognac or bourbon drinker in your life.

Very good. Lots of caramel and little agave on the nose Taste- barrel spice, caramel, and agave. With a peppery finish.

Aroma has a distinct maple syrup note (similar to the 7 Year 2005) and also a bit of alcohol. (The 8 Year does have a slightly higher ABV - 43 versus 42 in both of the 2007s). Flavor opens with a peppery spice that is softened a bit with fruit sweetness (apple, pear). The spicy finish lingers for a medium to long time. 12/24/2018 - 6th Annual Xmas XA tasting

One of our favorites from Fuenteseca’s XA portfolio, with deliciously balanced barrel notes that enhance agave notes with caramel, chocolate, spices, and marked pepper notes. An epic sipper, very well recommended.

43% ABV On the nose is vanilla, coconut, butterscotch, and oak. Faint cooked agave, but after 8 years in a combination of ex-red wine and dark French oak, the oak has really taken center stage. The flavours align with the aroma, but there is also a minty/herbal quality that if very interesting. A long warming finish. Retails for approximately $380 Canadian, which is honestly a steal for a tequila of this age. Highly recommend!

Plenty of agave. Plenty of barrel influence. Balanced. Great!

Huge burst of caramel on the nose, and some of that carries through on the taste. Minimal agave nose/taste, oak, pepper, and a fair amount of pleasant heat. I like this! Good sipper, but I deducted a couple of points on value as there are other excellent XA’s at a much lower price point.

Great stuff with notes of caramel, chocolate, and a very nice overlay of the blanco flavors of cooked agave, citrus, green pepper, and the minerality enhanced.

Had at the Don Fulano distillery. Go if you can. Agave and caramel throughout. There was a touch of heat which I enjoy. Pepper is perhaps a better description. If you can afford products from this distillery, don't hesitate.

Strong pine tree and medicinal aromas. Slightly heavy mouth feel with distinctly unsweet, mild flavor with a boost of cinnamon on the finish. Finish is nice and long.
