Nose: Light and fruity start with some background vanilla aromas. Dried fruit, cloves, cinnamon, and a whisper of citrus giving a round and mellow first impression. The sherry oak influence contributes a nice framework to the composite nose. Flavor: Some initial pepper bite, soon succumbs to vanilla and leather. An interesting tequila that evolves as it sits.

Strong nose of sherry, red apple, caramel, clove and cinnamon with nice mouthfeel and slight apple flavor and cinnamon red hot finish. A little hot for my personal palate, but complex and balanced.

This smells amazing. Aromas of dried fruit, baking spice, vanilla, leather, chocolate, and slight caramel. Flavor has vanilla, dried fruit, agave, raisin notes. Thick and oily mouth feel and really nice comfortable finish. Of the three versions, this is my favorite.

I really love all the expressions that the sherry brings out. One of my favorite things about Tears of Llorona 3 is that it is blended with a portion stored in sherry casks and this Reposado wears it well. The nose is really nice. The aromas at the edge of the glass hits your nose first, working the bouquet inward to a sweetness. That sweetness is tucked in underneath the other aromas and I can’t find it in the flavors, but I appreciate it’s uniqueness. The flavors run down your tongue accompanied by a polite heat, and I love how they all burst at a different point. It allows each flavor a chance to take the stage.
