On the nose, very potent caramel and nuts, pecan or walnuts, some pecan definitely. Very reminiscent of pecan pie for me. A little bit of whiskey, and some agave but very little. On the palate, I’m definitely getting that caramel, and honey, but a nice hint of red apple. The oak is surprisingly not overpowering for an 8yr XA. Very nutty and toffee sweet, delicious. For $109.99 on their website, this is a great value XA. The finish is long and nutty, so good. Almost right there with Tapatio Excelencia for me.

Nose: Caramel apple, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves. Slow cooked agave with oak woodiness present on the nose. Some dark ripe fruit adds another layer of interest. Also picking up some mineral notes and grapefruit. A touch of sweet leather. Flavors: Silky almond, hazelnut nuttiness, feisty pepper zing with a nutmeg retrohale. Hints of pencil shavings. You know this has been aged in whiskey barrels, but with restraint. Finish: Nice. Licorice, tummy warming pepper and toffee leave you with a memorable and mouth filling experience.

Has the original blanco’s green apple aroma/flavor, with caramel and oak. Not too sweet. Slightly dry finish balances the agave sweetness.

Aroma- rich baking spices, deep caramel, crème brûlée Taste- Vanilla and sweetness covers what I want it to be at first. Later, I got the rich baking spices and oaky agave. Finish- butterscotch, oak, quite nice

I was very lucky to receive a sample from a good friend (thank you, Remy). Before sampling this tequila, I was a bit nervous. Having tried the other Suerte expressions, I still didn't know what to expect. Aroma: Oak, caramel, toffee, green apple, honey, and slight alcohol. I really like the nose on this. Flavor: Oak, spice, slight pepper, caramel, and still some faint agave at the end. Finish is on the longer side, but the flavor starts mellowing out somewhat quickly. Overall, a good extra añejo that's easy to drink. I wish, however, that it offered a bit more personality and complexity.

I like all Suerte tequilas I have tried so I was excited about this one. In short: very good but not blown away. Once you factor in price, I’m not sure worth the experience. Lovely aroma. Flavors of honey creme brûlée. Honey and caramel dominate. Vanilla. Roasted agave. Wet clay and a little white pepper. Silky mouthfeel. On the sweet side but not cloying. There is oak and wood present but nice because not over-bearingly so. It does open up well. I just upped my rating a tad.
