This has too much wood for me. I can’t get any agave at all. Leather, oak and citrus aromas. Flavor is too sweet, almost like a coffee liqueur. If you handed this to me blind, I wouldn’t recognize it as tequila.

Tobacco, leather, nutty, pitted fruit nose, but very sweet and thin in the mouth with a nutty finish. More like amaretto than a tequila.

Overly sweet like other tequila made at this distillery. Nose of cherry, honey, light vanilla, caramel, sweet whiskey, light roasted nuts and light leather. The problem was in the taste. It was very sweet with an artificial or overly sweet aftertaste. Another tequila made at the same distillery, Reserve de Don Alberto (lot 1) is far superior, not as sweet, and much more pleasing.

So, I was led in first by the nose of Compveda, which is rather pleasant: sweet and rich, with a bourbon like appeal. Then the taste – absolutely terrible. Possibly the worst tasting tequila since my teenage Cuervo Gold days. It is sickeningly sweet and artificial tasting. The taste has a chemical aspartame profile. I rinsed my mouth out afterward. One of two things is going on here: 1. The tequila is loaded with artificial flavors, colors, etc., or 2. The Tequilero doesn’t know what he’s doing, and the use of former wine barrels is giving the tequila an (extremely) off taste.

Weak nose. No complexity. Basic finish. No depth. Seems filtered. Sweetener added.

Very thick, almost maple syrup like sweet. Don’t get me wrong, you may like this style. Not me. Wanted to like, but the sweetness over powered any agave flavors. Will have to revisit this again in the future.

Very sweet and smooth, with vanilla, leather, and oak.

Love this. It’s sweet so be prepared for that but the flavors are great. It’s a great gateway tequila for people used to drinking whiskey or cognac.

The color is pleasing as to be expected with an Extra Anejo. Initial aroma of wood is likely from the flash finish in char-oak barrels. Agave and vanilla are present, a light peppery start is finished with a smooth clean finish. This EA reminds me of a quality scotch more than a typical tequila. The marketing of this product is strong, going direct to market via Sip Tequila. Not sure this EA commands to price of the 750ml. Overall, good product and recommend tasting if you have the chance.

This stuff is magical but very sweet and enjoyed properly, like a nice aged Sandeman Port, is a delightful dessert like finish to a great meal with great tequila.

Beautiful presentation with a very unique taste that opens the pallets and minds of rookie and experienced sippers alike. Converts whiskey and scotch drinkers, many say compares to a nice port or cognac. Their go to market via direct to consumer at SipTequila.com is fun too. If doubtful try the barrel sample option tasting kit or the 375 - you will then want more !

I’ve seen other reviews call this too sweet, but for lovers of bourbon and scotch, I believe this is the perfect balance. Smooth, but layered and complex, with a full body that lingers on the palate. Strong flavors of oak, vanilla and caramel balanced with rich cooked agave... and the color is amazing
