I’m surprised that I like this, I’m not generally and extra anejo guy but this has some great balance going on. Gagging for a cigar now.
Nose: Ripe berries, black cherry, minerals, thyme and a dash of pine needles. Flavor: Silky almonds and caramel with brown spices, oak and pepper. Barreling barely allows the baked agave to peak through .
This is too sweet and overly oaked for me.
Spice and slight jalapeno on the nose. Incredibly smooth, with some minerality associated with the palette.
Soft nose with hints of vanilla and agave and caramel with a taste that matches the nose, although with less subtlety. Nice clear golden color (light for an EA). Medium finish. Some initial ethonal taste and burn. I wanted to appreciate this tequila but there are many other options out there that re better and don't break the bank. Even without the low score for value, this tequila is not a "list topper".
Smooth
Ok tequila but not the best value but def worth a shot if you have some extra money to blow and you’re tired of the 1942.
Nose: Roasted agave, sweet vanilla, carmel Taste note: sweet, smooth. Carmel, agave, herbal tones Finish: light and smooth. Great lingering notes

Aroma - caramel, floral, slight vanilla, oak, pine Flavor - light oil, initial sweet taste gives way to a watery mix, back end spice Finish - average, light heat on the lips and tongue This is a pretty good xa. It scores well in all areas but nothing stands alone as noteworthy. I don’t understand the price though which lowers the score.
I recently bought a bottle of don julio real and i noticed there was some lint inside the bottle is it normal for new bottles to have lint inside? I still have the bottle decided not to open since im not sure if its normal.
Expected more, especially for the price
Pretty decent overall. Smooth with butterscotch, caramel and vanilla. Maybe a little hint of agave. You expect plenty of barrel from an XA but the tequila is lost for me in this expression.
absolutely terrible, especially for over $300. not smooth at all
Had this in Cancun at a restaurant in Kukulcan shops... only $25 usd a shot! Great taste, smooth finish!
caramel on the nose, light body
I taste pepper and oak. Not too many flavours stick out to me. It tastes strong. Tough finish.
A nicely made XA, felt the price was in the packaging/bottle than the value of what we were drinking
I love this Tequila. Nice to sip on. Strong caramel flavor nice smooth sweet finish. Only problem is I wish it was more affordable so I can have more frequent!!
Excellent flavor and finish. A bit on the pricy side, best to have someone else treat..
does not compare with 1942. the flavor was a big disappointment.
I was able to get a bottle at a duty free shop for a major discount over the usual price at my local liquor stores. It's a bottle that I only open on special occasions, and it looks really nice in my tequila cabinet. But if given a choice between a glass of this or 1942, I would choose 1942.
For what this cost, its of no value
It is a beautiful tequila! I was lucky to try it for free because it is expensive. I will only recommended to maybe someone collects tequila; otherwise, there are many other good quality tequilas that will not break the bank

A little bland and watered down but somewhat sold, with a lot of caramel. vanilla, sweet, oak, fruit and citrus...but considering the price.... forget it.
