NOM 1595 - Very unique and out of the ordinary tequila. Strong aromas of caramel, vanilla, cream soda. Flavors abound on the sweet side with vanilla and caramel bring heavy hitters. Finish is sweet with a hint of pepper leaving long silky legs behind. Price is steep perhaps because of the artesanal bottle included in the purchase. .

NOM 1595 | Waaaaay too sweet for me, tastes like someone mixed tequila with maple syrup! This product pisses me off because it sells so well at duty free and so many people think this is what tequila is suppose to taste like.

I remember liking this tequila when I first got started with the spirit. Then I learned that I didn’t really enjoy sweetened tequila, so I stopped drinking it in favor of artisan small batch non-sweetened products. Just tried it again, and sorry, it’s too sweet for me now.

NOM 1416 | Sweet like pancake syrup with an aftertaste that is somewhat chemical in nature. This is a gateway tequila for many non-tequila drinkers along with DJ 1942. Stick with Don Julio 1942 as it tastes more natural.

NOM 1416 | Again, sweet and heavily manipulated, but more forgivable in an aged version. This is a gateway for many people, who will hopefully move beyond this liquid candy to more natural expressions of tequila. This would be a nice after dinner dessert sipper, at least.

Tasted blind: Agave, vanilla and caramel nose and taste. A bit too sweet for my taste. Medium to oily body with a spice and wood finish. Tasted next to Karma Reposado. I preferred the Karma and it is half the price.

NOM 1416 | Tasted blind! Wow...smooth, a tad thin and very sweet, too sweet if your not in the mood for sweet sweet?.. Bell on bottle top cool and helps it score bonus points!

NOM 1416 | I used to really love this early on in my tequila explorations. It got me excited about craft tequilas. However, I have a hard time drinking it now. There's a bunch of odd things in competition here. Overall, it comes across as a poorer quality product that has been doctored after distillation. The primary characteristic is its sweetness, but it doesn't seem like a sweetness that comes from wood. I would expect a repo of this color, viscosity and sweetness to have scent or flavors of vanilla or caramel, but instead, I get undertones of unpleasant flavors I find in thinner tequilas behind all the sweetness. I really think this is something not that great out of the still, and then they dump in agave nectar. However, it is possible I have no idea what I'm talking about. I don't recommend the Clase Azul line. At such a high price point, there's so many better options out there for less.

NOM 1416 | Fantastic reposado. Discreet aroma, sweet and complex in flavor. Incredible, lingering finish. One of the best. However, the price is steep.

NOM 1416 | Peppery in SUCH a sippable way. Crazy smooth with all that spice and chocolate. Wish the bottle didn't look like... Well, you know.

NOM 1595 | In light of the new additive information...it is hard to pay this price knowing there are distilleries not cutting these corners with as much flavor and half the cost...it is still fun to drink!!

NOM 1416 | First time having an additive tequila in a long time. Woke up hazy for first time in long time after drinking tequila so I’m assuming it was the additives. Pretty bottle, no agave taste but it is smooth and sweet so for a lot of people it would be good. Not for me

NOM 1595 | It’s very good. Probably in my top 5 reposados. BUT is it $150 good? No. Why does a tequila aged only 8 months cost $150 retail? It’s fantastic, but there are $50 tequilas that are just as good. Take Osadia or Socorro reposados for instance. I would pay $60 max for clase azul. But at that price it would be worth every penny.
