We’re about to enter a long weekend (which is called a “puente”, or “bridge”, in Mexico), so that means we need a tequila that can go the distance. Pasote Añejo is just the thing. It’s easy to drink and packed with agave flavor that isn’t covered up by to
Pasote Tequila is a new brand made by Felipe Camarena in his distillery, El Pandillo. Anything that comes out of this cool distillery is pretty much guaranteed to create some excitement. Pasote does not disappoint.
NOM 1584 | On the nose, fruity and sweet. Oak, spice, some caramel And vanilla. Agave is definitely very faint. On the palate, very fruity and sweet. Something like maple, very faint agave. That funk I got from the blanco is there but more well rounded here. It’s not as offensive with the aging. Definitely some oak and vanilla, a bit of butterscotch and cinnamon. Very oily and a nice finish. Some honey notes in there as I come back to it. Overall, this isn’t bad. Better than the new 1584 blanco by a long shot imo, but definitely not something I’d keep around. Pleasantly surprised but I won’t be purchasing this again.
