The nose is the best part. I detect fresh agave and bright citrus. It’s clean. I taste the agave and some pepper. The finish is short but clean. This is a non offensive tequila but it lacks depth and complexity. I have visited their distillery so I know that they make tequila in the traditional way and they strive for superior quality.

Let’s get this out of the way......I fucking LOVE this company and doors they have broken down to allow me to sit back and try a million tequilas! I’ve always been a fan of the silver, it’s consistently delicious and available anywhere. This product is a little too clean to rate as elite for my palette, the finish is the weak link.

Olfato: Fruity: Citrus and pineapple, floral, peppery and with caramelized agave. Gusto: Pepper, anise, citrus, cinnamon and cooked agave. All a bit muted. Finishes with lingering pepper, floral notes and sweet agave. I like this more than I anticipated.

subtle caramel in a blanco? yes along with cooked agave, citrus and a hint of vanilla. the aroma is easy like a Sunday morning. black pepper front, a little shocking given the smoothness of the nose. 5 second buttery finish eases to pepper, oak, caramel and vanilla. sipper, but not all night long.

Oily green agave nose and flavor. Pepper, citrus and alcohol are also present in a mild and short finish. A modest blanco at a premium price.

Green agave, peppery notes and earthy aromas. More fuerte than I remember.

Very pleasant all around. But perhaps a bit light for my tastes?

Some agave sweetness and citrus initially. Spice on the tongue along with some alcohol numbing. Moderately long finish. I will say that the Roca Patron is very tasty being tahona ground and higher proof.

Aroma: This is a little mellow. It has a slight hint of cooked agave as well as an earthy quality (almost like clay). Flavor: There are notes of agave and pepper. This has a slightly briny quality. That is left on the finish. Finish: Again, like the aroma, it's pretty mellow but definitely has a stronger finish at the back of your mouth.

Patron deserves credit for bringing high quality tequila to the mass market, but they tend to get bashed a lot these days. Undeserved, if you ask me. Patron Silver is actually pretty good, and being a huge brand they do a better job than many other small batch brands on the market. The one thing that took points off of my score has to do with some inconsistency from bottle to bottle. Not that every batch should taste exactly the same, but I really should have a good feel for what I'm going to get out of a bottle.

Let this be a gateway tequila that lets you forget your bad Cuervo experiences, gives you the confidence to ditch the syrupy mixers, and start exploring the many wonderful artisanal options available. Had to come back and adjust my rating after a blind tasting. Not a bad sipper for such high production volumes.

Patron gets bashed a bit too much for its obvious success. I think it is a decent blanco, although somewhat overpriced (I purchased a 375 for $15, so it was not too pricey). 2010 bottling.

I found this to be rather flat. might be okay in a mixed drink. do not recommend it for sipping.

The blanco, reposado, and anejo offerings from Patron were similar to one another in that the nose wasn’t unpleasant, the taste not memorable, and a slight oily taste. These would not appeal to me at their respective price points as better alternatives for my palate and preferences exist.

The best silver tequila for individual Palomas and margaritas! It imparts the perfect flavor in a classic margarita. Very smooth and great on its own too (shots). Patron got me back into drinking tequila after the horrible Cuervo experiences when I was young. Patron is always an excellent party starter. A fine tequila! Patron is great Tequila, Don’t be a hater.

Got as part of sampler pack. Good aroma but nothing very distinct coming through. A bit of agave but not strong alcohol so balanced, I guess. Flavor, middle of the road but maybe a bit better because no harsh finish or aftertaste. Great gateway brand.

the Blanco is an excellent choice for margaritas-my wife loves it. No bad aftertaste at all, very tasty but expensive.

My first real Tequila like many others living in the US. Great in margaritas and a bit rough drinking it solo. I only buy this Tequila as a gift for others that like it. I do appreciate this company's keeping the time old traditional methods of making Tequila alive and craftsmanship of their bottles.

Blanco Tequila: The Great Divide

While the panel’s favorites were complex, elemental and intriguing, we were troubled by a lack of intensity in many of the bottles as well as by a sense of artificiality in some. As Florence put it, we found a great divide between those tequilas we liked
