While the panel’s favorites were complex, elemental and intriguing, we were troubled by a lack of intensity in many of the bottles as well as by a sense of artificiality in some. As Florence put it, we found a great divide between those tequilas we liked
I've always learned not to judge a tequila brand just from one expression. I haven't fallen in love with the Partida Anejo the times that I've had it because it lacks character that makes it unique.
On the nose, herbal and grassy, very light overall with some agave and a clean minerality. Across the palate the flavor is nice and citrusy, with some agave sweetness, somewhat muted and thin. The finish is dry, with some vegetal and black pepper, and an alcohol bite that becomes less pleasant the longer it remains.
