Aroma : Alcohol, agave, earth, and some medical aromas predominate. Taste : Cooked agave and alcohol are the top 2 flavors, but there is also some degree of citrus, vegetal, and earth. A little more one dimensional than I would like. Finish : Very light with some citrus and alcohol. I can find this for around $45 a bottle, and while this certainly a good tequila, it's a tad overpriced for what you get, and there are far better tequilas to be had at this price.

Aroma: Agave, asparagus, lime, zest, grape fruit and green tea. Palate: Agave, citrus, sugar cane, camomile, avocado cream, asparagus, vegetal, and pepper dominate the paladar, but finish with a slight burn and alcohol after taste

It’s a lot sweeter than I remember, the aftertaste is a little hollow but entirely drinkable.

Flavor is agave forward Finish slightly thin but maintains flavor

This used to be like comfort food when I really didn’t want to think too much about what I was drinking. But in recent years, this blanco has taken on some suspect aromas and flavors: cotton candy and a bitter finish.

nose is strong on the raw agave and plastic. a little spicy. the plastic gets stronger in the tongue with a decent finish of citrus and pepper.

Quite a bit of yeast on the nose. This is an older mini sample bottle from not too long after Diageo took over distribution of DJ. The yeast continues in the mouth, it is almost like drinking bread and I say this while mostly sober.

The aroma is sharp and harsh with notes of bread/yeast and medicinal alcohol. There is some agave aroma here but it is overwhelmed by the other notes. The flavor opens with a bitter almond taste with a bit of butter and sweetness. Both these flavors remain as a strong, peppery spice follows. The finish is medium length and leaves a bitter aftertaste. 8/6/2015

An earthy aroma of agave and citrus. Mild sweet agave flavor with black pepper and citrus. The finish is short with a crisp bite.

Green agave aroma very present, not much to my liking. There's a sweetness to it as well, which is also present when tasted. The flavor is quite flat and simple. The finish is quite rough.

Light nose. Slightly oily. Clean and smooth with some pepper. Not too complex. No big agave. Easy lingering finish. Better than Patrón. Still prefer smaller-market tequilas, but decent sipping if you're stuck at Chili's.

Soft and slightly complex, but not overbearing with lots of sweet, floral and citrus tones. This was for the Mexican market so it was 38% (rather than 40%), and I believe it was one of the last batches to get out before they changed the fermentation process as I find a lot more yeasty notes in the newer DJ blancos while there was only a touch of this on the nose.

At many restaurants this is the only decent choice. It’s not terrible, but I always walk away thinking it’s adulterated. It surely is to some degree.

Terrible taste. Strong alcohol scent. Gives me a headache when opening the bottle.

There really isn't a lot to this tequila - it has mild traces of all the "standard" flavours (agave, pepper, citrus, some floral/grassy notes) but I struggled to identify much beyond. Alcohol nose hit quick but didn't bother me much after that. Went down smoothly without much lingering. Decent Blanco that could be a go to for mixing or less experienced drinkers IF it was half the price (value dragged this rating down). Reminds me of Olmeca Altos, which is the best bang for your buck IMO

Very alcohol forward and harsh without the benefit of a strong agave or pepper flavor. Plenty of value priced tequilas that I world recommend before this. Probably fine for mixing

Nose is sweet vanilla, cinnamon, white bread, and slightly vegetal. Loads of citrus , and tropical fruit on the palate. Reminds me a little bit of "blue raspberry" flavouring. The finish is very short and unremarkable, but for the average consumer looking for a "smooth" blanco tequila, Don Juilo is a solid choice which can be found in nearly any liquor stores.

bottle design is good. the flavor is little weak so little disappointed because I expect more from it. in my opinion herradura is better than this even though cheaper price

Tasted like straight up Alcohol. Wasn’t that great for me personally. Maybe I don’t know enough yet about Blanco tequila. But this one was just a miss for me.

yo opino que solo pagas la marca de don julio, está muy sobre valorado su precio por el horrible sabor que tiene, solo he probado el blanco y no me dan ganas de probar otro, es como tomar alcohol de caña

Review #176 - Don Julio Tequila Blanco

Don Julio is just a solid brand and tequila at all levels. It's good for mixing and sipping. It's easy to find and pleasing on many levels.
