Vessel: CT Jarrito Nose: Vanilla, Buttery, Oak, Honeysuckle, Agave, Butterscotch Palate: Vanilla, Oak, Burnt Carmel, Cinnamon, Toffee Finish:Dried fruit, Oak, Cinnamon, Chocolate, Molasses I told myself I wasn't going to get this one on my visit to Jalisco. The 2021 Winterblend didn't particularly blow me away, so I wasn't about to take a gamble on this one at the price tag... that was until I ordered a pour at El Beso Cantina the day before my Fortaleza tour. Prominent agave and vanilla on the nose. Very buttery and sweet. Oak is present but faint. On the palate, the robust aromas begin to dominate. The Oak is much more pronounced, but I also get burnt carmel and toffee on the back end. The finish is toffee, molasses, oak, cinnamon, and dried fruit.
So nice to try! Thanks Hugo! Incredible aroma. One of my favorites ever. Taste is a creamy explosion of agave and sweetness. Very sweet.
Nose- Cooked agave, vegetal, citrus, fruit, vanilla nice light barrel notes. Palate - similar to nose with cooked agave, vanilla and citrus notes. Finish - This WB shines in the finish, great mouth feel, agave, citrus, barrel notes linger.
Great nose, some heat, needs to open up, vanilla, caramel, light cherry. Very unique blended Reposado, again another unique winter blend
The aroma brings a sense of familiarity echoing the classic Reposado profile with warm notes of honey, caramel/toffee, cinnamon, minerality, and a touch of light cocoa. However, a playful sweetness reminiscent of an ice cream float adds twist. On the palate, the initial impression stays true to the Reposado’s core, highlighting minerality, wood, and honey. Yet, a wave of creamy, buttery caramel/toffee makes a fleeting but impactful velvety appearance. This moment of richness has bold whiskey undertones and a grounding earthiness. It drinks like a high-proof Reposado but with a distinct transition of flavors that shift toward the dry down with fluidity. For me, the dry down and finish is where this shines the most and where the melody of flavors mentioned above are at their most intense on the palate. Persistent notes of clinging wood and bold whiskey, grip the tongue with a wine-like dryness that mingles seamlessly with a peppery edge, faintly tart and gently fading sweetness.
This Winter Blend is one of my favorite WBs. It has a nice nose of cooked agave, vegetal notes, some citrus and barrel spices. I get caramel and vanilla. The palate is sweet but is followed by a citrus acidity. I get vegetal and earthiness and a spiciness that lingers. Again, as with the other WBs. They’re good but not spectacular. This one come closest to making it worth the purchase if you can get it near MSRP
Nose is decent. Palate is decent with a long finish that lasts
The first pour was sweet agave with hints of cinnamon and honeydew. The finish was a light pepper. It's definitely a delicious pour and recommended to anyone who can get it. It's very worth the hype.
Cream cherry casks from Spain, 46.5%
The reason santa has a 2 DUI’s …
Nose Lactic, root beer, vanilla, agave Taste Pepper, oak, peach/melon, bell pepper, mint, honey Value really hurts this one You do get some of the classic fort flavors and smells
Aroma: Agave, Vanilla, black pepper, minerals Taste: Agave, earthy, vanilla, Finish: Very balanced medium finish with vanilla & minerals
Unique! Nose has cream soda, oak, and caramel. Taste starts out vanilla and opens up into cherry. It has a sour cherry finish. I like this. Personally, it’s my least favorite Fortaleza offering. But that’s not to say it’s bad. I just prefer everything else more.
Nose: Sweet cooked agave, honey, caramel, toffee, mineral, oaky, light smoke. Palate: Caramel, cooked agave, butterscotch, pepper, cinnamon, honey, chocolate, barrel notes, vanilla, medium heat! Finish: medium, warm. Overall, great repo, but not worth the secondary price! 1 point deduction for the price! Bought in Colorado for $218
I want to preface this that I traded some high(er) value bourbon for this and maybe some coping is involved in my rating. Nose: vanilla, cooked agave, slight ethanol, a hint of baking spice Palate: holy sweet. It’s actually so sweet it almost hits you with confectionary sugar notes on the front palate. Mid-palate moves to the more vanilla notes, with that vegetal earthiness I feel like is “classic Fortaleza.” The back palate has just a touch of fruit and pepper. The whole mouthfeel / viscosity is the best I’ve ever had in a tequila. Finish: this is where the largest influence of those cream sherry casks is felt. Lingering pepper and almost wine notes. Finish is very long for a tequila. This is definitely the best tequila I’ve ever had. I will say I’ve only had probably less than 50 different types of tequila throughout the years and this is the first winter blend that I’ve tried. But I will be savoring every pour from this bottle and I’m happy to have paid under MSRP in trade.
Taste and palate basically the same agave. Caramel, vanilla The best wb in my opinion
My favorite winter edition. Brilliant with notes of cooked agave, canteloupes, lemon meringue pie, key lime pie, star anise, ginger, cinnamon, christmas cakes, sultanas, almonds, raisins, golden syrup, plums, dates, and apricots.
good
Classic Fortaleza flavor with a high proof. Phenomenal !
The rating feels blasphemous for how delicious this juice is but I just can’t go higher on value for what this is selling for! Managed to find a local restaurant with a $45 pour and it was well worth the sample. Such full bodied flavor for a repo, my favorite WB since the 2020.
LWB-R-06, tasted on 12-16-24. Color: light yellow to pale yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, hint of raw agave, hint of green vegetal notes, light acidity, hint of sourness, hint of wood note, hint of citrus, after 20 minutes in the glass a hint of fruitiness emerges, hint of red apples. Well balanced. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, although on the rear label it states that part of this tequila has been matured in ex-Spanish fortified wine casks, however, and luckily, it is not really noticeable nor overpowering the tequila flavors and aromas. Pepper spiciness. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave, hint of fruitiness with a hint of barrel spice persists.

Nice agave and wine like nose to it. Followed by an agave forward pallet, with caramel, pitted fruit like plum or apricot, ending with a nice dark chocolate finish that last.
