Expressive nose bursting with ripe fruits, salted caramel, dates, dried berries, and hints of minerality and earthiness. The palate is a sweet one! The fruits are intense with cooked agave along for the ride. If you’re looking for a fruity, sweet, & indulgent anejo give this a try.

NOM 1412 | The aroma opens with the distinct raisin essence of cooked agave, intertwined with notes of sarsaparilla, oak, red apple, caramel, and strong vanilla. Hints of cherry and light cocoa add depth, while a trace of ethyl is ever noticeable. On the palate, the flavors unfold in a dynamic blend of whiskey and pipe tobacco, grounded by cooked agave's earthy sweetness. A tangy, slightly effervescent quality mingles with a rich, cola-like warmth. Bright orange citrus, subtle grassiness, and a touch of baking spice round out the profile, creating a seamless balance between sweetness and spice. The finish is delicate yet memorable, with a lingering spicy sweetness that feels almost carbonated. Notes of minerality, fresh agave, and a refreshing vibrancy leave the palate invigorated.

NOM 1499 | A really great complex anejo. Had this at a restaurant and was very pleased. Nose: cooked agave, caramel, oak vanilla, baking spices, and cherries coming from the wine cask. Palate: cooked agave, caramel, cinnamon, cherries, nutmeg, and baking spices. The addition of the wine cask adds a very enjoyable complexity to this anejo.

NOM 1499 | NOM 1499: On the nose, loads of caramel, vanilla and oak. Sweet cinnamon and a bit of spice and fruit. On the palate, definitely a ton of oak. The caramel is very present. The oak is a little overpowering for me, I’m not loving that. Nice natural sweetness and some agave hidden in there. The vanilla comes in and out and lingers on the finish. Overall solid. A little overoaked in my opinion, and at $90+, it’s a little pricy imo. I appreciate the use of Mexican wine barrels.

NOM 1499 | NOM1499 - The nose is fragrant but not dark & dense. It’s delicate but not thin or heavy. This Añejo is double barreled. They first barrel their blanco for 6 months in Mexican merlot wine barrels and then it’s rebarreled and aged for an additional 12 months in symphony barrels. A symphony barrel is a barrel made from multiple wood types. Corrido uses 3 wood types to make their unique barrels; French Limousin oak, Missouri white oak & Hungarian oak. There’s an earthy sweetness with hints of baking spices (mainly cinnamon), raw unfiltered honey, cooked agave, thin molasses and saturated oak staves. Some chocolate and tobacco sneak in too. This is a tequila that whiskey fans can also appreciate. - For a Añejo that’s interacted with so many wood types I can still taste the cooked agave. There’s notes of caramel and a dense combination of dark honey and Mexican vanilla. The barrel influence and some sweet pepper hit the mid palate while the baking spices and barrel tannins linger into the medium and sweet finish that has a hint of orange chocolate. Overall this is great additive free Añejo that I love sipping neat but I’d also like to try it in a Mexican Old Fashioned. - Their bottles look great and the back label has a picture of their stacked barrels on the backside that faces the front of the bottle.

NOM 1526 | Complex and rich. one of the best tequila values out there IMO. Agave, caramel, spice and just enough oak. Delicious.

NOM 1526 | Even more peppery than the extra-anejo, but I think I might like it more because the complexity isn't so hidden. Lots of licorice, and I don't like licorice. But I like this.

NOM 1412 | This is a fantastic añejo with a delicate and complex flavors and aromes. It’s not your average vanilla forward añejo.it has depth and evolves due to a blend of several aging players. American oak barrels, Hungarian oak wine barrels. It could use some more agave though it’s about 3 layers down. I do get dried fruits cinnamon baking spices butterscotch dark chocolate earthiness medium finish and medium texture. It’s Not far from some of the best añejos like ArteNom 1146!

NOM 1412 | Thank you my friend Ray for sharing this bottle with me! Don’t see any lote codes, tasted on 10-19-24. Color: brown. Aroma: barrel spice, wood note, hint of cinnamon, light caramel, after 20 minutes a hint of cooked agave note emerges, light vanilla, wood note becomes more intense as time goes by and becomes slightly astringent. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, sweet & spicy, however, sweetness i feel is from the barrel and not from agave. Burnt caramel. Finish is medium to medium long, light caramel, barrel spice, hint of cooked agave, light vanillas with slightly dominating wood note persists. Too woody & ends slightly astringent.

I'm not lying when I say it's the only tequila I drink. After a long hard day, I sit in my office surrounded by leather bound books and sip it neat and think about all the important decisions I made that day.

NOM 1412 | The nose is very nice with notes of sweet amaretto, caramel and butterscotch. The flavor is surprisingly delicious. Wow. I’m definitely adding this one to my cabinet. The wine casks come through on the finish in a very pleasant way. Notes of caramel, dark fruits and the sweet wine finish. Great job Corrido!

I liked this one. The symphony aging process in ex-Mexican merlot barrels adds a unique layer of dried fruit, oak, chocolate, and a subtle red wine influence, creating a distinctive profile. Hints of cola and wet oak. Pretty unique and a solid Anejo for the money!

It just tastes like whiskey. Meh. If you want a more subtle touch of whiskey the repo version of this isn’t bad.

Review #100 - Corrido Tequila Anejo - Revisited

The Corrido line is just a great line of tequilas. This is the best of the bunch. The smell, the flavor, the price, the presentation...this tequila is probably my favorite tequila when you factor in flavor and price.

Tequila Corrido Reposado is a rich, artfully-crafted single-barrel tequila

Late last year I had the pleasure of sampling Corrido Cristalino, and I was a huge fan of the tequila's complex flavor, writing that it is "nearly as perfect a blanco as you can get." When I was given the opportunity to taste the new Corrido single-barrel

Corrido is a formidable new kid on the tequila block

During the time of U.S. Prohibition, the Corrido, a musical form of Mexican folklore, often honored the tequilero, or tequila smugglers, who gained popularity along the border. The "smugglers" of Corrido tequila are hoping for a similar popularity.
