Alot of agave with vegetal notes pepper and cinnamon. I don't love the finish but overall solid.
Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Agave, Citrus, Mint, Minerality, Herbal Palate: Agave, Pepper, Pear Finish: Earth, Anise, Pear, Cream This was impressive. I got herbal and mineral notes on the nose, but that gradually brought out sweeter fruit notes on the palate and eventually the finish.
Nice reddish hue to the tequila from the wine cask. The legs take a good 25-45sec to develop which is beautiful. Nose- agave, honey, fruit like melon, honey sickle, red wine grapeness. Taste- nice agave forward with fruits and slight floralness with a slight twinge from the wine barrels, not in a bad way if flows with the agave and last for a medium finish.
Pretty damn Good …. The French oak, and wine cask flavors are very prominent in the beginning…. Mellows after the first sip and the opening up…. High in complexity.
Tequilas aged in wine casks have become trendy recently, as producers play with different barrel influences. But “Rosa” tequilas, like “cristalino”, aren’t an official category.
love this high proof!
