Had slightly higher hopes for this one. Unfortunately additives and sweeteners were detected right away. Left a lingering chemically sweetness on my tongue for a while.
Well this definitely has been sweetened It’s not over the top, nor is it cloying. It drinks more like an after dinner liqueur that would be great with any chocolate dessert. But if you’re not a fan of any amount of sweetness, you’ll probably want to skip this one. For me, I am enjoying it.
Rich agave nose. Dried fruits. Vanilla. Mid palate is sweet, but not commercially sweet. To be clear, I generally do not like sweet tequila. This has a very pleasant sweetness. Not over the top. Not cloying. Still, it will not be for everyone. I’m judging on my tasting experience. This would be an extra anejo I could sip all evening. I’d rather drink neat than make a Margarita with it. But crafting a cocktail with it, maybe a riff on a Mexican coffee or chocolate tequila martini would be great as I get a lot of dark chocolate on the finish. Update 12/28/21: I found it’s an amazing pairing with caramelized pecans. Try it!
