Nice agave forward blanco that resolves to some white pepper and tongue numbing from alcohol.
Aroma has baking spices, cinnamon and a tiny bit of semi-sweet chocolate with warm vanilla. This has developed nicely with the additional months in the barrel that the reposado seemed to be asking for. Flavor is also much improved from the reposado. It's not an overly aged añejo and it feels nice in your mouth. I like the finish here best of the entire lineup. Not being overly aged really helps make this an enjoyable sipping tequila.
There's not all that much in the nose of this. Almost like it's crying out for character. This is really obvious when you smell the Añejo, and compare them side by side. There's some cooked agave, vanilla and red bell pepper, with the nutmeg of the blanco carrying over in the aroma. The flavor is nice, but it keep looking for something to reach out and grab me. Feels a bit incomplete, but still very drinkable. The finish is a bit rough on the back palate, less enjoyable than the blanco.
Let's this open up - it changes into something really nice if you give it about 20 minutes to breath. It's a blanco with nice cooked agave aromas, and a slightly sweet finish. Definitely the best of this brand's lineup.
Love the aroma with strong cooked agave, earthy, a little cinnamon, and some alcohol smells. The flavor varies similar now but adds a metallic taste with hints of grass and vegetal. The finish is brutal with ammonia/solvent tastes.
