This one is an añejo, but clear in the glass, so lots of filtering was done. Aroma of cooked agave, caramel, pepper and a hint of oak. Flavor of black pepper and vanilla. Seems as though the oak and agave got filtered out. Medium finish. Good value.

I really wanted to hate this as I do with pretty much all cristilinos, I think it’s gimmicky, but this actually was ok. They claim it is additive-free along with all of their lineup. Aged 24 months in ex-Jack Daniels barrels. The nose was very muted, subtle sweetness, a little oak. The palette has some black pepper, oakiness, starts out with some citrus and finishes with barrel notes.

LOT: NAC4520T10 Blind tasting with: Don Julio 70 & Maestro Dobel Diamante. View: slightly yellowish, very poor tears. Freshly served; Aroma: artificial sweetener such as aspartame, artificial vanilla. Taste: an artificial sweet, artificial vanilla and an astringent and citrus aftertaste that goes away quickly. I let it oxygenate for 10 minutes. Aroma: I don't notice any change. Taste: very very sweet, very artificial, false vanilla and sweetener flavors are clearly distinguished.

LOTE EAC4380T25, 40% abv., tasted on 12-9-23. Color: a tad of yellow. Aroma: a hint of cooked agave, caramel, butter, almonds, green tea, slightly citrus. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, there is a slightly cloying sensation on the palate, viscous, a hint of orange blossom and purple flowers through my retronasal?! Finish is medium to medium long, butter caramel with light herbal and green tea notes persist.
