Nose: eucalyptus??? / fake vanilla/ menthol / vanilla/ grass/ pineapple/ lime/ spearmint/ basil / jasmine/ molasses/ musty Taste: artificial vanilla/ artificial sweetener/ grass: earth / cinnamon/ banana/ pear / lime / lemongrass/ basil / baking spice / molasses/ hint of pine/ cream soda / medicine Finish: sticky high viscosity mouthfeel/ lingering artificial vanilla, artificial sweetener, pepper and cinnamon This is a filtered anejo not labeled as a cristallino. There is not much to enjoy here. I can not recommend this.

Tonight was taste Cristalinos from major brands. This one is a smidge better the DJ 70. Nose is sweet, almost confectionery. There are tastes of artificial sweeteners very little agave and some cinnamon. The finish is okay and better than the DJ. Again, this will only make my shelf is it is a gift. Might work okay in some mixed drink. Almost no barrel notes

Not a fan of this. Overwhelmingly vanilla forward, cuts the nuanced notes out completely. Tequila doesn’t naturally taste like this, I have no doubt that additives were introduced to this Cristalino from Herradura.

Overly sweet and difficult to pick up any other flavor besides vanilla

More spicy on the palate than I thought it would be. Earthy, spicy, citrus, agave on the palate. The aroma is sweet and alcoholic, peppery and citrus.

I would put this is in the Don Julio category. Artificial sweetener and vanilla. Smooth but lacking the essence of agave.

Another Cristalino that disappoints. Perhaps it’s me just liking aged cooked agave. The notes here were dried fruit. I do like Herradura Anejo and thinks it over delivers. Not the Cristalino. I guess there should be a distinction between the two and there definitely is.

This cristalino is a decent tequila. I’ve had both the Mexico version(35% ABV) and the one that’s sold in the US(40% ABV). Both are very, very smooth. Almost too smooth, if that makes any sense. I don’t like sweet tequilas and this one is already kind of sweet from the blending of extra añejo with Añejo, unfortunately it’s made even sweeter with the addition of agave syrup. Like most cristalinos, most if not all of the agave has been stripped away with the necessary filtration to make it clear. It’s overpriced for what it is, but it’s definitely popular with the casual drinker due to the ease of drinking.

Faint smell but very confectionary, reminds me of those pill shaped candies that cheap people would give you at Halloween. Tastes like cake with too much vanilla in it, not entirely off putting but devoid of any balance. The finish is a surprising success considering the parts, it fades away nicely and leaves a warm sensation on your tongue. I can see this being really popular for this category.

Heavy sweet syrup for the aroma. Taste and finish are ok to good. Not much going on. Revised: lowered score with chemical sweetness in the taste.

Very muted nose. Some mineral, musty odd notes. Flavor: Starts with an aspartame like vanilla flavor. Pepper and bitter perfume note. Finish: Artificial bottled vanilla.

Worst thing I've ever had the non-pleasure of experiencing... I keep a bottle at my house, just to show those what NOT to drink!

Artificial vanilla and sweetness. Doesn’t resemble tequila at all. The only positive is that there’s no burn. Overall it’s awful.

In the recent trend of over-sweet tequilas, this is probably the least-awful, for what that’s worth. Would be great ice cream.

sweet vanilla flavor. Soft finish. Not much agave flavor. Would recommend to friends who don't like the bite from more authentic Tequila.

I’d steer clear of this one. It might appeal to some, but I didn’t even enjoy it in a cocktail. Nose: Hints of vanilla, citrus, and agave. Taste: Agave, vanilla, and caramel, with subtle notes of citrus and pepper.

This Anejo Cristalino was better than I expected, and actually enjoyed the aroma of oak, agave, and caramel. I was hoping for more of those pleasant aromas to come through in the taste, but it was not as strong as I had hoped. Overall, it was pretty smooth but not my favorite.

Aroma is very sweet, caramel-forward. A chemical taste lingers, mouth is left feeling raw after drinking.
