Bottle from 2009 Nose: Charbhay Blanco starts with an inviting aroma of cooked agave, followed by the refreshing essence of petrichor from the highlands. Caramelized notes mingle with a pleasing minerality, complemented by those red earthy nuances. Subtle hints of green fruits, such as green apple and pear, add a touch of freshness to the nose. Taste: On the palate, Charbhay Blanco delivers a harmonious blend of flavors, with cooked agave as the main component. Spearmint accents and earthy nuances merge, accompanied by the distinct minerality that speaks to its origins. It reminds me a bit of Ocho Tequila from Las Pomez/El Verge Estates. Towards the finish, a subtle note of bell pepper and sweet mint emerges, adding depth and complexity

1.5 oz Sample from Alex P 6-5-2023 The nose is very pleasant and the more u visit it, the more compex it gets = Citrus, agave, honey, mild mint, floral -chamomile? some fruit - melon? bananas? some minerality/stone, and a little anise Palate - not as much going on as the nose would indicate. but still nice. Some agave and minerality with a little mint, a little heat on finish. Finish is short at first but comes back around with heat that lingers, which is nice. Does have a slightly bitter taste at the end tho. Overall, a nice tequila which I would try again IF it was available, which sadly, it is not.

Sad we can’t get this anymore. They need to make an anniversary addition. From the same distillery as Ocho I believe. Vibrant, cooked agave, smooth, great finish.

Roast agave abounds on the nose and continues from first sip to finish. It has some bitterness at the end which for me holds this back as I prefer a more neutral or slight natural sweetness, especially with as much roast agave as this has on the nose and in great amounts in the mouth. Repeated nosing from a glencairn reveal some floral notes which remind me of carnations. It is the first day of Spring after all. 65th birthday review.
