As far as cristalinos go, I think this was very unoffensive. It has a clearly artificial taste and a very quick finish with no agave, something I’m sure many people would enjoy but not me. The price tag is pretty insane even compared to other “high end cristalinos” (~3,500 MXN).

Strong aroma of rubbing alcohol, flavor profile was better than the nose. Not a fan of striping the flavors of an Anejo. Prefer 44 any day over their Cristalino

Definitely not as good as Avion 44, which is currently cheaper around me. It lost some of the flavor 44 has and has more of a rasp, which makes it not as smooth as 44 either. Not a terrible tequila, just another example of jumping on the crystalino bandwagon.

Typically not a fan of Crystalino’s….just don’t get it. Typically not a fan of Avion. Typically not a fan of high priced tequila that is over-packaged and over-marketed. Looking at you Clase Azul. This one confirmed all. While not horribly undrinkable, it just misses. Throw in the high price…no thanks.

UPDATE 11/10/22: tried this one for free with a score of 59. I ran across this at a store and saw the price… $130!?!?! What a rip off! The more I look back the more it seems there was diffuser juice. Lowered my rating after seeing the price. On the nose cream soda, rubbing alcohol, black pepper. A tiny bit of agave on the palate initially but then quickly followed by vanilla and astringent—decent mouthfeel though. The finish is rough, the astringency is quite lasting as well as artificial vanilla flavoring.

Vanilla on the nose, with a soft clean tasting finish

I was so excited to try this new Cristalino because I truly love the Avion Reserva EA but I was extremely disappointed. The nose was all alcohol. Flavor was just heat but it did have I fairly nice oily texture. The finish was also alcohol, heat, and a touch of green pepper. I tried upon opening and after 20 minutes breathing. Not much difference.
