Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Peach, Floral, Walnut, Grass, Agave, Mint, Molasses, Vanilla, Honey Mouthfeel: Medium-Bodied Palate: Smoke, Carmel, Floral, Jalapeño Finish: Oak, Vegetal,Caramel, Agave, Jalapeño What a wild ride this one was! This Anejo was very complex and had a surprise around every aspect; the nose, palate, and finish were remarkably distinct from each other in almost every way. After trying the 55% anejo from Caballito a month or so back, I really thought I had this one figured out.. Instead, I have a newfound respect for Caballito and a fresh reminder of how much of a profound difference 9% abv can have on a spirit.

Not on tmm, had anejo agave azul. Sweet mint on the nose and pallet almost like a spearmint gum flavor. If you like mint this had plenty.

48% ABV. Had originally rated this at 87. I was happy to have the opportunity to re-rate, given how much I enjoy the other Chatos. Lots of agave, pepper, mint and cinnamon. Love the finish, once I gave it time to open up. Such a treat!

48% abv. Complex. Aroma, agave, whisky, pepper. Flavor, pepper, agave, citrus. Spearmint, warm finish!

A little thin and light on the finish, but otherwise this is excellent.

44% ABV Aromas: Fruity, floral, berries and piquant barrel spices. Jackfruit, ripe pineapple, and apricots. Flavors: Buttery and floral with pepper kick - then throw in a small handful of cinnamon red hots. A nuanced touch of allspice. A salty undercurrent. Finish: An interesting destilado with a banana cream richness fade out, as the heat slowly ebbs. The price tag deducts a point from the score.

Chato Añejo 48 | All time classic. Starts out with strong honey notes, evolves into funky/smoky, ends long and sweet. Amazing.

Lot: DF-21-0B-B8, aged for 13 months. 48% abv. Color: yellow. Aroma: citrus, cooked agave, earthy, slightly smoky, orange peel with lemon peel, Palate: smoky, citrus, earthy, minty & fresh, agave notes feel greener on the palate, at the end it is slightly dry. Finish is medium to long, raw agave, earthy and smoky notes persist. Smoky aroma slightly masks other aromas.

It’s going to be hard to get away from still strength aged agave spirits after this one.

Strong aromas of sweet cooked agave, mild mint and a fresh spring bouquet of flowers. On the pallet, warm cooked agave, barrel spice, black pepper, and cloves. The finish is exceptionally smooth give the higher ABV. More cooked agave and spice with the long and hot lingering heat of cinnamon gum.
