Aroma and flavor both are predominantly oak, caramel and alcohol. Whiskey follows on the flavor. Not complex and the oak, caramel and whiskey seem forced and unnatural. Medium finish is highlighted with young agave bitterness.

Syrup in a bottle. Lots of vanilla and malt mixed with agave, whiskey barrel notes and caramel.

I find the single malt Irish Whiskey finish to be odd with conflicting elements from the light malted barley grain flavors and the agave and whiskey notes of the new char American barrel. It gives an almost syrup overtone from the sweet Irish elements. It's very odd to me for a Cuervo product. New to market following the Blanco and the Tradicional Reposado, this has new Cuervo line philosophy all over it. Smooth and sweet some will love the vanilla bean, caramel, malt flavors present. I guess Cuervo saw DJ Buchanan's as a success?

Mexican 38% abv. versión, lote: L00223, bottled on 30-03-2023, tasted on 10-14-23. Color: light brown. Aroma: brown sugar, light vanilla, light burnt caramel note, it is herbal which might be the only characteristic here that I can associate with agaves. Light citrus. Light oak wood note. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, although it has sugar vanilla & caramel sweetness but the light herbal and acidic note helps to make it less cloying. Finish is medium to medium long, herbal & citrus notes with sweetness and light black pepper and a touch of oak wood notes persist.

This was not good at all. It tastes like cough syrup without the cherry flavor. Some sort of artificial sweetener that was not good at all. Even though it is inexpensive, it costs way too much for this quality. Better selections in the $30 price range include El Mayor, Tres Agaves, and El Tequilano. I could not find any redeeming qualities from this tequila other than I have had worse.

Seriously, it’s under $40 and Jose Cuervo … what did you expect ? It’s very drinkable (who uses an anejo as a mixer anyway ? ) it’s got some fake sweetness of honey and butterscotch. A tad of alcohol, and sometimes you find a hint of agave . I’m more mad at the label . Meaning , TMM says one thing, the label contradicts and says another . Guess that’s ok in Mexico ? The FDA would be all over that if it were made here … smoke n mirrors by tequila’s oldest distillery, why won’t they just re-up their game and do it honestly right ? Regardless, I’ve bought it several times now and still enjoy it ! Salud !

I was unexpectedly surprised upon opening this bottle, not necessarily in a bad way, but to me this tequila is definitely a hybrid. That being said, this product is mediocre as far as tequilas go, however it mimics a decent Scotch especially with an ice cube. It lacks the traditional tequila flavor and aroma, yet has a compliment of smoke, peat, and leather. I would buy this product again but with the mindset that I would enjoy it not as it may have been intended. If you’re in to Scotch, you may want to give this product a whirl.

Jose Cuervo Traditional Anjeo is a mediocre Anjeo. I don't see this being useful to sip or mix. I find it smooth, yet overly sweet and thick. Carmel and vanilla flavors over shadow the cooked agave. This is a hard pass.

Overly sweet, toasted marshmallow. Not much agave flavor. Finish is very abrupt. There's nothing off-putting though and it's tasty enough.

i do love Jose Cuervo's other traditional tequilas. But this añejo got way to many conflicting flavors. Way to much oak flavor, it's off putting. This tequila serves better at a mixer.

Interesting Anejo, finishes more like a whiskey than a tequila, owing to being finished in an Irish Single Malt barrel. Definitely taste that grain and honey on the finish.

I guess if you like coffee or molasses this is for you. It was hard getting this down I'm not a coffee drinker

A lot of caramel and vanilla flavor and smooth but very sweet. I got it for about $30, so it’s a pretty good tequila for its class.

Maple syrup aroma. Taste and finish are nearly undrinkable.
