Sampled neat in a Glencairn at a restaurant. Nose: lots of barrel notes, but not overpowering, maybe strawberry. Palate: aged agave goodness, caramel, vanilla. It has some texture, as well, which is a bit different. Finish: short to medium, some alcohol, no agave, but more oak.
Oak and caramel on the nose. I’m tasting oak, cinnamon, caramel, honey, dried apricot, and cognac. Easy drinking XA for a reasonable price.
A deeper amber, bourbon-like color. The nose is a blend of spice, with deeper aromas of oak and caramel. Oak is very present in the flavor, mixed with caramel, oven-cooked agave, and a mix of cinnamon and nutmeg. Also has a nice velvety consistency. The finish accentuates the flavors of oak, vanilla, and caramel, with a nice tequila-agave burn at the end that lingers on after. Tastes like the freshly cooked samples of agave hearts and pencas from the distillery. One of the best extra añejos on the market for the price, a real treat that won’t break the bank.
Aroma has subtle cooked agave sweetness and other fruits (cherry, apple, pear). Complex flavor profile with sweetness of fruit, some astringent minerality and ends with bitter almond. So much flavor and very, very good. Long finish that lingers with great flavor. 12/24/2020 - 8th Annual Xmas XA tasting
Excellent XA, very enjoyable, roasted agave, slightly sweet, caramel, vanilla, citrus notes. nice finish.
I picked up a bottle of the EA in Texas. Their Anejos is one of my got to favorites, so I was expecting a lot out of this EA and it delivered! The aroma is smooth and sweet with oak, caramel, pepper and agave. The taste is really smooth as well with agave and oaks, then pepper, caramel anda hint of vegetal, with a smooth burn and peppery finish. Definitely fitting with the Don Abraham line, and a very good EA.
Caramel and vanilla with agave sweetness on the nose. Thinner, oily mouthfeel with the barrel notes coming in strong. Agave on the backend. Long, complex finish with anise, muted pepper, and tobacco. I agree with another reviewer who said this would be amazing at a higher proof, but for a cold and snowy evening, it really hit the spot.
Mineral, agave forward. Organic scent. Clean pure Caramel taste, crisp. Berry smooth
Had a blind tasting of XAs. This one took the night.
Pretty thin. Might be due to the proof. Lots of good note's but volume is turned way down. It would probably be epic at 43%.
Perfect for those bourbon lovers. Very easy to drink, lots of barrel flavors. Very minimal on the agave though.
Amazing
Aroma: agave forward, oaky and vanilla spice, minerals. Taste: sweet vanilla, oak, pepper. Finish: earthy, tobacco/cigar, pepper. Very good. I really enjoy this bottle.
Hoping this is additive free
I love Don Abraham and was excited to see how this extra anejo compares to the anejo. The nose is light, woody, and slightly sweet. On the palate, it is smooth and mellow. The bourbon barrel wood is more pronounced in the añejo than this one. The balance is amazing with a caramel and bourbon feel. Age statement says it is aged a minimum of three years. The mellow of the aged tequila comes through with a clean and slight wood sweetness on the finish. The is the most expensive bottle I’ve ever purchased. It is amazing and would be a great gift for someone that loves sipping tequilas.
Great flavours, especially if you’re a whiskey drinker.
Very bourbonesque. Oak, caramel, butterscotch, and vanilla. Agave drops in and out with a long, warm finish.
Acquired mid 2022. Color: medium brown. Nose: sweet wood, mineral, sweet cooked agave emerges after 15 minutes in the glass, aromatic burnt sugar. Palate: toffee, burnt sugar, wood spices, cooked agave barely noticeable. Finish is medium to long and the sugar notes are more of vanilla plus wood spiciness.
Rich, oak, toast, chocolate, agave, vanilla

Woody, sweet, spicy nose, reminds me of bourbon. Syrupy, sweet, peppery palate and long tapering finish. Nice XA but different than others, agave buried.
