aroma and flavor aren't very deep or complex. cooked agave, pepper and alcohol are predominant on both. certainly holds up in a cocktail, especially at the low price point. not as a sipper though
Alcoholic and medicinal nose. In the mouth there's really mellow agave and some alcohol, although the finish seems clean enough. Even though I got this for $15, it's definitely doesn't have the best value because you'd be MUCH better off picking up a 1L bottle of Cimarron for $20, or maybe a bottle of Arette if you happen to be on a budget.
Liquor store sample…. Lactic funk on the nose. Non-descript on the palate. Quick finish. Probably great for mixing. Points for price.
I picked up the San Matías Legado Blanco from Total Wine & More in Northern California on the 22 of September 2024. It was priced at $17.99, and was claimed to be additive free by staff and signage, it does have a statement of 100% agave on the bottle. On the nose you'll get ethanol and cooked agave. The palate has a slight sweetness, (but nothing that screams additives) there's also notes of pepper and earthiness, with cooked agave on the finish. I originally bought this bottle because I wanted something affordable to use in a Cosmopolitan cocktail infusion bottle I got at Home Goods. Overall this is a good value if you're out camping or throwing a large party. I'd purchase it again if it was in the need of an affordable tequila.
Aroma isn’t very strong, a mix of agave and alcohol I would say. Taste has agave, white pepper, alcohol but also this bad artificial taste. Like solvents or rubber. Not drinkable. Even mixed in a margarita with fresh lime juice and agave syrup the drink was noticeably off. Not sure if something changed with this tequila recently, this was purchased in Feb 2024 at Total Wine and now has a blue label on the bottle.
Excellent value for its price. Great candidate for mixing or shooting
Nose has pepper, more fruity than citrus. Green apple and some herbal notes of anise. Palate: The green apple gives way to a rubber taste that is too overwhelming for me. It's strange that no one has seemed to mention it. Maybe I have a bad batch/bottle?
Agave, citrus, and notes of apple on the nose. On the palate, I get sweet Agave, black pepper and more citrus. Decent heat on the finish but not abrasive. Fantastic value I really enjoyed it for the price.
Fantastic mixing tequila - I swear it’s citrus forward, and has limited pepper flare. Considering it comes at a $30 price tag for a 1.75 L bottle, overall this is/will continue to be my go to standard mixing tequila at my home.
It doesn’t have an intense flavor to it. Would recommend as a mixer more than anything
The last bottle I had of this, had a fake sweetener flavor.
Legando is a budget friendly ($18 @ Total Wine) bottle when you need a decent mixer. Nothing special about this tequila other than its price. Personally, there are a few other brands I'd grab over Legando. Extra points for value.
Definitely tastes like added sugar/sweetener. The agave notes aren't bad.
alcohol and pepper forward with a decent clean finish. took a few shots and they went down better than the price suggested. this is a decent tequila to have at the house and enjoy on a chill night home. not something I would take to a party or give as a gift. this tequila is purely passable for enjoying a few shots or drinks at home.
Alcohol forward on aromas & taste. Even with letting it open up. Taste is not bad but this is better suited as a mixer. Citrus, herbal and mineral but still has an artificial sweetner quality to it. Palomas, margaritas and matador.
It is a good budget mixer but not something I would recommend. Mostly because Cimarron is about the same cost and is better.
first time trying this bottle. it was pretty good for my usual mixer is coke and lime. had a shot glass poured to sip and it was full of flavor at first than it took a citrus finish. I can get used to this with no lime no salt. will definitely buy again under $20 a bottle it might be my go to gift out. salud.
My go to tequila for margaritas. Total Wine in my area sells this for $30 for 1.75L. That’s a bargain for this tequila to serve a better margarita.
So i bought this is a inexpensive mixer for Tequila Sunday and am a bit surprised that's it's an ok sipping tequila as well. I'm more of an añejo kind of a guy, but I've enjoyed this bottle a lot more than I though that I would.
Great for parties
Not much to say about this tequila. If your looking to make cocktails with it, it’s great. Otherwise, steer clear.
great value for 100% agave. great for mixed drinks.
not good even for price
Not an amazing tequila, but fair, clean, and cheap. Good choice for mixing fruity cocktails.
Lou thinks you should think about this one as an affordable mixing tequila.

Junky Blanco with a weird sweetness.
