Nice melon and cinnamon aromas. Slightly sweet and oily. Short finish.

I picked up baked agave, melon, vanilla aromas. Smells really nice. Flavor has cinnamon and more vanilla. Not too sweet, which is nice. Finish is short and clean. Bought this online at a bargain price from Old Town Liquor. Looks like the brand is no longer in production, so if you want to try it, buy one soon!

Taller skinnier bottle, 40% abv., 1 litro, NOM740, lote 040429. Has bar code but no marbete. Color: brown to dark brown. Aroma: caramel, sweet wood note, vanilla, bourbon, at the end wood notes become astringent. Camphor wood. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, alcohol sensation is quite high. Finish is medium to long, bourbon, slightly astringent and camphor wood notes persist. In a blind tasting I would say this is bourbon.

Deep color. Aromas of caramel, oak, cinnamon & nutmeg. Oily mouth feel. Intense flavors match aromas. Clean, smooth lingering finish. Blind tasted favorably w/ Tepozan, Azuñia & Don Pilar repos. Gave it one extra value point for $29 price.

Kinda rolls over the pallette and down the pipe without much personality. Almost too simple?

El Olor: Sweet and buttery. Not like most Tequila. Maybe a little understated vegetal like crops or grass. Could be agave. El Sabor: Buttery with a little saltiness. Peppery. Cooked agave and caramel notes too. El Final: Great finish. Lingers long enough to let you know you drank a nice juice and then makes way for hors d'ovures. I'd pair this with a dry aged beef steak.

Tequila Los Valientes Reposado – “Budget tastiness? In the bag!”

This one caught us by surprise for several reasons. First, the price: at $29 we didn’t expect much, but you never know. Second, the packaging: a tequila bottle wrapped in a burlap sack? What was it hiding? Turns out, it’s only hiding tastiness.
