This tequila presents a perplexing blend of bitterness and sweetness, but the flavors feel artificial, missing the authentic essence expected from a quality tequila.

The nose has some sweet cooked agave, mint, spice, some anise, slightly herbal with some alcohol on a nose, and it was vanilla and creamy. The taste had medium+ oils, again herbal, sweet, vanilla and creamy, with sort of a pine wood presence and a little front end heat. The finish had some minor heat, creamy, herbal and vanilla.

Nose: Fruity aroma of over ripe pineapple and pear. Trace vanilla and caramelizing agave. Also detecting some dusty concrete. Flavor: Vanilla, lite almond, and pepper. Some pear notes persist and a little spicy heat. A little thin in the mouth. Finish: Slight bitter note on the finish. This tequila packs quite a lot of flavor for a 35% ABV blanco priced at $265 pesos.

Mexican 40% abv. version, lote: L051022-07, bottled on 28-10-2022, tasted on 11-4-23. Aroma: intense cooked agave, a hint of floral note, minerality, after 15 minutes in the glass a cinnamon & unnatural sweetness emerges, such a shame because it didn’t need anything to be added to it… Palate: confirms aromas perceived, the unnatural sweetness appears towards the end and it ends slightly bitter. Finish is medium to medium long, cooked agave with unnatural sweetness persists. Ends cloying.

This Don Anselmo Blanco is the one I always have in my cover and my go to, whenever I feel to drink something slick. I am not into Blancos but these type are quality.
