At first, the aroma had a hey little funk in it but as it opened up and my pallet warmed up, the aroma has some good flavors. Taste is really good with good agave and a nice softness in the mouth. Finishes excellent. Pleasantly surprised.

A unique bottle & laid back mission statement peaked my interest with this one. A bit sweeter than I was expecting. Undoubtably had a vanilla & agave forward flavor, albeit one note. A bit underwhelming/overpriced, but it’s still a decent sipper if you’re looking for vanilla & tropical notes in a blanco.

3rd Night: The initial aroma showcased a predominant agave presence on the first night, accompanied by rather unremarkable notes of black pepper, brine, and ethyl, rendering the overall olfactory experience less exciting. However, a discernible transformation occurred over the subsequent nights, where the aromatic elements softened, and a more pronounced vanilla note emerged, adding depth to both the smell and taste. The tasting experience unfolds with a interplay of flavors. Agave takes the forefront, complemented by notes of brine, a buttery texture, and light caramel. A distinctive banana essence and a soft, palate-friendly quality evoke the taste of candied yam which I suspect is agave syrup. The addition of butterscotch, subtle hints of green and orange citrus further contribute to a salivation-inducing trigger on the tongue. The finish is characterized by a sweetness that lingers, accentuated by the enduring essence of agave and a refreshing freshness. Very minute pepperiness adds a subtle kick, while a pleasant saltiness intertwines with faint alcohol, green citrus, and a delicate floral note.

Quite viscous, I feel the best Blanco tequilas are less so. This isn't that.

Has a vanilla profile which is unusual for a Blanco. Also pick up pepper and agave and alcohol. Not bad but not a higher end Blanco in terms of quality.

Nose: agave, vanilla, tropical fruit, coconut and some sweet aromas Flavor: Cinnamon, vanilla, and some tropical fruit Finish: short, light pepper, with some sweetness

Nose: Sigh... not much going on here. I get esters, some un-ripe sour kiwi, but mostly flat. Vanilla hiding in the background. Flavor: Sweet. Like sweet sweet. Vanilla. Finish: Cookie dough flavor, then flat. Overall lacks complexity. Seems filtered and flavored with some vanilla additives to me. Not an example of an artesanal tequila centered around agave flavors and aromas.

It has that familiar aroma that i can’t quite put my finger on, but its like Olmeca Altos. It dominates the nose. Its a very sweet smell, like marshmellows. On the palate, i do get steamed agave, but its after the cinnamon. Think Red Hots. Its not that i don’t like this, its just not tickling my tequila-snobbery fancy. And to be fair - i LOVE this distillery. Tequila 1,2,3, El Luchador (!), Don Abraham, Los Alamos, Diablito XA (whaaaat?). I guess i just had higher expectations. Still good, but not quite there for this palate.

What generally pleasant beast slouches towards my gaping gullet? Why, it’s the supple, spicy and fragrant Solento Blanco - a liquid that I, mere moments ago, had never heard of, and to which I have now decided to dedicate the fiercest coursings of my essence. This is really the first banger I’ve mentioned in a hot minute - largely because I forgot my password to this app and now live in a godforsaken wasteland where the best tequila around is Casamigos. Very soft and sweet with relatively little pepper, as I prefer, and also very little heat. Honey, dulce de leche, kumquat, buttermilk, orange. This one is quite spectacular. I’ll have to recommend it to Connor so he can pawn his last can of Fancy Feast to keep the entire legacy lineup in a storage unit.

LOTE202BDA, tasted on 2-9-24. Aroma: raw agave, minerality almost like a metallic aroma that softens, light aromatic green vegetal notes, light fruitiness, hint of herbaceousness, light citrus, light acidity, hint of tutti frutti. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, hint of white floral & fruity aroma through my retronasal. Finish is medium to long, raw agave, hint of tutti frutti with green vegetal notes persist.

1480 sweetness, 100% DNA of any tequila made at this distillery - not sure what sets any of them apart, but I don’t care bc it’s good! A note to contract brands - play with the abv, 40% gets very redundant. With that said, this is an amazing distillery that makes amazing tequila. Just not sure what sets the brand apart from the others made there.

I was impressed by this guy in a good way. The aromas are good, nice and gentle. Very fruity, melon. It is crisp and agave, and fermented aroma it’s present. The flavour is also rockmelon, pepper and crisp. Definitely a good tequila that I can drink everyday. Price point not great.

Solento Organic Blanco is a solid blanco for sipping, although it takes a big hit on affordability ($60 @Sip Tequila). I echo Don Heiser's tasting notes.

It’s okay. Very drinkable, naturally sweet, but just not that interesting to me... There are much better Blancos at the price point. I got bottles of all 3 expressions at the same time, and I liked the Repo and Añejo better. I’m a former San Diegan and big fan of Taylor Steele’s work, and happy to support his endeavor. This is not bad tequila, but for strictly drinking purposes, I’d probably spend my money on another Blanco. Also, damn... the bottle is absolutely gorgeous. Gonna probably use all 3 for vases/art when I’m done with them. A worthy addition to anyone’s bar.

Tastes naturally sweet vs. syrupy/ artificially sweet like some other popular tequilas. I was served this Solento Blanco over ice with a simple lemon and it was really lovely!
