This is the best vegetal, earthy tequila ive had. I typically prefer the naturally sweeter vanilla fruity tequilas, so I wouldn’t typically pay $90 for this but top of the line on the earthy side. Loved it

Nose: Loads of citrus and cooked agave, earthy minerals. Lots of lemon peel for me, it’s exploding with citrus. Palate: Cooked agave, earthy, citrus and cinnamon. Lots of flavor here. No ethanol, finish is seemingly endless. A little pepper spice. A touch of jalapeño and something like cucumber. Tasty, and very different from my normal go-to pours. This is a good offering from Cascahuin.

Blancos dont get much better than this. Great oily entry with tons of warm cooked agave and mineral on both the nose and palate. Some pear and bubble yum. Not pricey in LA. Worth a hunt in other areas.

Agave forward on the nose… some fruit elements like citrus…. Has another aroma can’t place it … maybe olive… has a bite up front and it stays for a minute… long finish. Taste of cooked crushed agave, balanced sweetness… agave is prominent and comes through

Aroma: Beautiful raw and cooked agave. Some sweet floral notes as well. Taste: Nice mouthfeel, more agave, white pepper, some minerals, eucalyptus. Finish: medium with nice heat and that herbal eucalyptus thing hanging around. This is a really good one and well worth the bump in price over the other blancos from this wonderful distillery!

My favorite of the 3 expressions. A Tahona treat. Sweet but a lovely balance. A delight and must have if you like Tahona made

Wonderful all the way around. It opened up a little for me on the second tasting and I bumped it up a few points. I think it needs a little time to breathe. I get minerality and earthiness throughout with this tequila. Nice cooked agave aroma and flavor. The finish is really nice and smooth. Overall a winner and definite repeat. It’s easy to tell this is a well crafted tequila.

Aroma : Green olive-parmesan cheese, lactic combo that reminds me of Fortaleza Blanco Still Strength. Minerals, and ripe cooked agave are abundant too. Taste : The aromas carry through here with smaller emphasis on the lactic quality. There's still plenty of cooked agave, along with some black peppery spice and notes of cinnamon and light fruit. Finish : Carries more of the fruit from the initial taste along with more minerals. The finish is moderately long, and sweeter than the initial spiciness would indicate. Another great expression from Cascahuín. I'm curious to see what some extra % abv would look like with the lactic quality on this one.

Cascahuín Tahona Blanco - NOM1123 This 84 proof lowlands Tahona tequila is made in the traditional way. Deep well water, stone/brick oven, Tahona crushed and copper pot stills. It shows! The nose is wonderful. It’s fresh agave, lime, minerals, mint, cut grass and sea air. I taste cooked agave, citrus, oysters and white pepper. The 84 proof makes the finish linger. It’s excellent. This is a must have sipper. ¡Salud! AustinTequilaConnoisseurs

This literally pushes every button for me in smell, flavor and finish. Roast agave, natural sweetness and a nice protracted finish. Hope to see this exported somtime soon.

This is an amazing blanco. The aroma is herbal and grassy with the smell of fresh agave. It’s taste is full of agave, minerals, and a little citrus. The mouthfeel is thick and full and just feels great on the palate. The finish is long lasting with that fresh agave lingering for a significant amount of time with just a hint of pepper. There is no alcohol burn whatsoever and no overwhelming spiciness. Love this blanco!

Wow. Probably the best blanco I’ve ever tasted. This is what it’s all about! Minerality, citrus, mature agave, and just and old school funk that you only get by taking your time. Bravo to the Rosales family. A must buy!

Wow, this is good. The aroma is good with agave, minerals, especially iron, and a grated cheese-like scent. The taste is intense! Its one of those tequilas that tastes like the process. Agave, pepper, spicy, with a nice long finish. I found flavors in this bottle that can only be found in a true artisanal tequila. You almost need two tastings to get the full effect. Love it.

Kind of underwhelms off the nose but delivers in spades on the taste, this tequila is phenomenal! Ripe fruit in spades in the finish, reminds me of making a pechuga.

Nose: Extremely sweet, rich baked agave. Ripe Italian cheese, flinty minerals, and an umami/meaty aroma. Some lactic/barnyard aromas (not a negative - just another bonus layer to add to the interest). As it opens up slightly, a minty undercurrent emerges with anise, as well as herbal notes of freshly cut grass and a suggestion of dill weed. Robust citrus lends a fresh note. Flavors: The flavors come in with more punch than the nosing would indicate. Huge caramelized agave presence, a black and white pepper kick, and cinnamon red hots. There is a vague olive-like note. Oily. It finishes with a hint licorice, vanilla cream and pepper. A nice artisanal tequila.

Cooked agave and slightly lactic aroma (which I like!), with a hint of green pepper. Tasty and naturally sweet in the mouth, with a pleasant green pepper finish. Not complicated, but balanced and enjoyable at 42% abv. An exciting new tahona product!

Has a fun lactic/cheesy thing going on in addition to agave, mushroom, earth and cinnamon aromas. Aroma also shifts and changes in the glass over time as it opens up. Flavor is naturally sweet cooked agave and some minerals. Finish is short and clean, the minerals are pronounced as the agave sweetness fades. Quite enjoyable and easy to drink. The lactic/cheese aroma is there because the cooked agave spent a good amount of time exposed to air before they the were added to the fermentation tank. I love this because it's a sign of a truly natural process, and one that can only be achieved through a slow artisanal process. Anyone who thinks that all tequila is the same needs to try this one. I’m also thrilled to see that they installed a tahona and continue to embrace old school production methods at the Cascahuín distillery. Bravo #cascahuinando!

Lots of agave when it first hits the tongue. There is a slight sweetness. It’s a tad hotter, at 84 proof, but after the 2nd and 3rd taste it turns into some great depth with strong agave, pepper and citrus flavors. Has some mineral flavor but not smokey at all. Finish is nice and leaves you wanting more.
