For the money, an excellent starting anejo for those on a budget. Nice sweet cooked agave notes

nice bottle. straw color (lighter than many other anejo. mineral, cooked agave, some orange or orange oil, baking spice is there too. the oak is running along side, begging for attention. flavor starts with some very ripe, cooked agave, baking spice. the warm pepper tingle on the tongue makes me think it is higher than 40%, but not burn in throat, just nice tingle in mouth. Really great price point for this anejo. good enough to sip. budget friendly across the board

This tequila came really strong at the first pour with a lot of alcohol first, too oaky for me. After a few minutes lost some of the alcohol and taste better but nothing to go crazy about. I'm getting oak and dark chocolate in taste. For the Price is right on point.

This is the best of the 3 expressions. Many of the bitterest notes are gone but not entirely. Anyone who is expecting a sweet smooth sip will have their face slapped around by this. Nose is tobacco, cedar wood adds to the humidor impression. Some oak and barrel spice in the mouth with some citric acidity and little sweetness. Finish is just a bit shorter than the blanco and reposado.

For the price, this is the Añejo to start with on your journey. Very complex and long on the finish.

Sweet, touch of honey, roasted agave comes through with a slight astringency. Beautiful smell on the nose and got it at a close out price!

Wow such wonderful smells … citrus, fruit, agave, maybe butterscotch, no fake vanilla, oak, bourbon or whiskey. Taste is unique and wonderful also … slight barrel , honey, pepper, caramel. Wow , for this price point and pedigree, hell yeah a winner !

A bit heavier on the barrel notes than I like. Agave nose takes a back seat on this one. Taste backs up the noses detected … butterscotch, alcohol, spices, pepper and bourbon notes prevail. Price makes this bottle worth a try.

Espanita Anejo comes in a cool bottle with more traditional labeling. Although not officially additive free but I couldn’t detect any additives. Nice notes of oak vanilla and cooked agave on the nose. The same flavors on the nose with the addition of a little butterscotch and citrus. A little bit of butter on the tongue as well. Another great product especially at $33.95!

Aroma - household cleaner, alcohol Flavor - vanilla, oak, green agave Finish - short, smooth Not sure how the aroma is so bad considering the flavor is pretty good

Smooth and flavorful to start but the finish has a strange plastic taste to it. For the price it’s a very fine tequila but I just can’t see myself sipping this from a snifter glass. Perfect for a shooter and chaser to get rid of that weird aftertaste

Good sipping tequila, not too harsh, good caramel and butterscotch tastes, great price.

Really nice Anejo for the money, in fact I like this better than many at triple the price. There is an alcohol in the smell, taste and finish, but not bad. It smells sweet to me, oak, butterscotch, citrus. The taste doesn’t disappoint, Oak, butterscotch, dark chocolate. Finish dark chocolate, burnt agave, alcohol, oak At $29 a bottle this is likely going to be my daily first sipper. I don’t think it will replace Espolon repo for ceviche/taco/tamale meals.. but for sipping this is really nice at that price point. I even really like the presentation. The bottle is a nice shape with raised glass lettering. The label is happy and fits the taste. Edit: 7.19.21 Not sure what happened but starting with batch “Q” there is a strong unwelcome medicine aftertaste… pretty sure something changed and it’s become fake.. very sad, was a great daily sipper.

Tried this as I loved the Reposado, very nice Anejo especially for the mid $30 price. Agave flavor, a little alcohol but not too much. Prefer a bit more complexity but, again not a bad Anejo at all. Worth being in my mix of go-to tequilas though the Margarita Maestro in Oviedo would possibly differ being a high end tequila snob such that he is.

I appreciate añejos but don't usually sip them because they are too sweet. This one I was pleasantly surprised. Not too sweet. Lots of wood. Oak, cedar barrel spice on the nose. Oak, baked agave and vanilla in the mouth. Honey, tobacco and citrus in the finish.

Very mixed feelings on this stuff. Many of my favorite notes are in there but so are many notes of flavors I try to avoid. My overall impression of this is cheap juice that's been made "drinkable" by aging. It is NOT worthy of the $30+ range it is in. I might have thrown it into the rotation if it were in the sub $20 range just when I wanted something different. But even then I'd probably just buy Espolon or Mi Campo or Correlejo instead. See a pattern there?
