Phenomenal nose! Black pepper, cinnamon finish, agave on the palate but the finish falls of for me. Too short.

Smells of milk chocolate, buttercream, and oak. Butterscotch and cinnamon flavors with a super interesting, semi-hot finish with a little raisin vibe.

Well balanced floral, wood, spice and light citrus aroma. The aromas don't reach out and grab you and you have to fish for them a bit. Definitely opens up after just a few minutes of opening. Flavors of oak and light caramel up front settling into agave and brown sugar. Not the biggest XA fan but this one hits all the buttons for me.

Cooked agave and oak on the nose.. wet cement, earth and mustiness, but not in a bad way. Nice body not watered down…. Has some heat, black pepper with a long finish some fruitiness.. with the flavor of dried fruit. Sweetness and bitterness like dark chocolate …. Smell is like wow.

Barrel influence on the nose. Not much agave. Pallet is soft, but very easy to drink. Tough to detect the agave on this one but I still really like it. An XA is expected to have a lot of barrel influence

Aroma: Very nice and clean aromas of cooked agave, dried fruit, and a slight vanilla sweetness. Taste: Sweet on the tip of the tongue, creamy smokiness with a flavor of cooked agave and pepper. Qualities of banana bread. Finish: Dried fruit and cooked agave flavor fill the palate, coupled with oak, pepper, and a slight vanilla/caramel sweetness. Overall: Was looking forward to trying this one, it’s an excellent tequila. It’s impressive what Cascahuín is able to do with an additive-free tequila like this one. A unique extra añejo that is still clearly tequila. One of my favorites.

Aroma: Oak, agave, bourbon. Orange peel. Cinnamon and caramel. Flavor: agave comes through more in the flavor. I get a good amount of orange. Oak and bourbon are there in the flavor but not as strong as the aroma. Some citrus and baked goods. Mix of cinnamon, brown sugar and molasses. Finish: the citrus builds and gets much stronger in the finish. I like it because it doesn’t make it drink as heavy as if the oak and bourbon were as present throughout. Some pineapple and orange on the back end. A little agave. Pretty long finish and a nice tingle. Overall: I like this XA a lot and I’m not generally as into aged tequilas. It’s complex and changes from start to finish and even sip to sip. Not over oaked and I feel like I can pick up hints of the Blanco in there. This is on my short list of aged tequilas. This is a winner. It gets points for value. ~$120 for this good of an XA is a bargain.

It manages to retain the bright agave while still delivering the right amount of oak from aging, a hallmark of my favorite XAs. I’m picking up some honey and caramel, but also dried fruits—apricot and maybe caramelized pineapple, with a touch of espresso bean on the finish. This tequila makes me happy.

Another masterpiece from the Rosales family. Melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and spice lead the way before cooked agave takes over. Subtle oak notes present, but it doesn’t overpower the agave. I get raisins at the back end before a warm finish. Bravo

This is the goods. An Extra Anejo that should be the bench mark. Dried fruit, fresh vanilla, caramel and sweet cooked agave. Light wood and alcohol. I really like this XA, might be the favorite.

Aroma : Dried fruit with pear, raspberry. Almond, vanilla, and caramel. Some baking spices and a small touch of cooked agave. Taste : Full bodied with the same dried fruit notes with cooked agave as well. Oak, nutty with almond, and light sweetness with vanilla and caramel. Finish : Long lasting and prolongs dried fruit notes with a little bit of cherry, and the same nutty and sweet notes from before. This tequila hit all the right notes for me. Plus I love that there was cooked agave AND dried fruit notes. With many Añejos and Extra Añejos it seems like you only get one or the other. This is top tier.

Okay, im a Cascahuin fan. But this is no joke. Wonderful nose. Dried friut and cherries. A bit of oak. Amazing. Super oily, agave, oaky, baking spice and fruit cake on the tongue. Exceptional.

Lots of oak on the nose, need to let it breath for a bit after initial pour. Very soft flavor.

Cherries and tropical fruit on the nose, with hints of agave. Initial taste of pepper, immediately followed by tannins and caramel. Long and complex finish, nice heat on the tongue and throughout. An exceedingly interesting XA that hasn’t lost its soul in the barrel.

Appearance: Dark amber color. A corona forms, and eventually some of the slowest tears that I have ever seen. Nose: Caramel, vanilla, ripe berries, and orange peel. Background baking spices. Some earthiness. Hint of oak marries well with the gave. Flavors: Warm pepper heat. Baking spices, toffee, cafe au lait. Round fruitiness and agave. A balanced and finessed dessert sipper

This México only tequila has a nice golden color. The nose starts with caramel and cooked agave. There are notes of creme brulee, vanilla and orange peel. The taste is a sweet mix of agave, oak and pepper. The finish is smooth and short. Overall this is a great tequila but I think it drinks more like an Anejo than an XA. If you can find a bottle, purchase it!

Dried fruit (apricot, apple, plum?), pecan, vanilla & caramel nose. Aromas come through in flavor with dry American Oak finish balanced with sweet agave. Real, rounded and delicious. One of my favorites.

This is one incredible extra añejo. I almost don't know where to start. First, the aroma is so killer that it almost brings me to tears. So real, honest, legit. This is how it's supposed to be, folks. No additives, no bullshit, 100% what it's all about. Cooked agave, yes. And dried fruit, cherry, nuts, almonds, caramel, vanilla, peach. Flavor is intense dried fruit and agave with some caramel and vanilla. Not the fake "caramel" and "vanilla" additive that can be easily dumped into a batch, but the real stuff that can only come from spending a long time in a barrel. Balanced like a fine crafted work of art that can only be done with time and patience. I SO wish more tequilas could be like this. It is (currently) only available in Mexico, so coming home with this (as a non-mexican) is a serious score. <3

Straw colour, medium legs Cask influences assault the nose first, vanilla, oak and cherries. Then the minerality hits and eventually parts to let the cooked agave come through. Great mouth coating texture, cherry liquorice and agave are prominent. White pepper, citrus and stone fruits. Long citrusy and mineral finish. Incredible product.
