Doesn’t smell like anything, tastes like cake, long and sweet aftertaste is really nice to win new “tequila” drinkers. I am a bit conflicted about this category, I appreciate the doors it’s opening but the snob in me wants to hate it!!

Trying to find the agave in this is an exercise in futility. Hard to imagine that this stuff started out as an Añejo. Not sure it’s tequila at all. The Trammps were probably referring to this in their big 70s disco hit when they sang, “Burn baby burn!”

Aroma is disappointing but not terrible. Does not smell aged. Slight candy odour. Would never guess this an Anejo. Tastes close to a Blanco but little character. Finish: nice mouth feel, lingering sweetness and burn.

Definitely a smooth scented tequila. Very strong with the burn of alcohol at first sip. It has notes of pepper to follow with a soothing aftertaste. I can see this making a very nice shot taking tequila if you want to ride that flavor through the night in your mouth.

Not a very strong aroma. If you are smelling for taste, it won’t help. The taste is immediate, strong pepper, spicy. If you can get past the heat and pepper the aftertaste is very welcomed, tingling on the tip of your tongue and heat in you chest. Not much else to say other than, if you enjoy pepper taste profile this is your tequila.

Desagradable aroma, dulzor artificial, alto alcohol (quizás Metanol!), des-balanceado, inexistente madera. Sabor a medicina barata, se acentua el dulzor con cítrico y destaca un raro gusto a pimienta. Es una bebida engañosa y costosa para lo que ofrece. Cómpralo para mezclar con muchos azúcares y saborizantes.

Would recommend to try a cristalino, but doesn't have an appealing aroma. Taste is not bad.

Smooth as water but not in a good way. Zero character or complexity. All of the alcohol is in the nose with none in the body. It's a notch below being a one trick pony because it has no trick. Faint bit of vanilla/butterscotch. The smoothness would make for a dangerous mixer but who spends $30 on a mixto?

Starts with a nice agave aroma but not very complex for an anejo. I don’t really see the point of these cristallinos.

It seems like every tequila distillery is on the Cristelano bandwagon these days. Here in Cabo San Lucas this one normally retails 420 Mexican Pesos, about $23 USD. I've never been a huge fan of the Cristelano expression although have many friends who love DJ70. Found this Hornitos on sale for 199 pesos this week about $11, and thought it was too good a deal to not at least try it, even though all Sauza product are diffuser tequilas. (thank you Tequila Matchmaker for the insight) Opens with alcohol on the nose and a hint of vanilla, seemingly a characteristic of the Cristelano expressions. Smooth. Mouthfeel with a hint of jalapeño? Short peppery finish. I'll finish the bottle but probably wouldn't by again.

Just to get this out there, it’s not bad juice. But the whole cristalino thing is not my cup of tea. -10 points for buy again/recommend. Asian pear on the nose(bright but ‘watery’) , hits the mouth very one note, finishing with residual sweetness and a touch of heat. I’ll keep a bottle in the freezer for shots.

I already wasn’t a huge fan of the whole cristalino fad but this makes it all worse!!!

I had to add agave syrup to it to make it drinkable.

Nose is light but flavorful for an Anejo under 30 dollars. Hornitos fans should love this. Great value in this bottle!

Anejo that the color is taken out of. Great flavor profile. Has the aroma of anejo with the look of a silver tequila. Makes a great margarita.
