A light fresh aroma of cooked agave, minerals, earth and a hint of citrus. With the addition of black pepper the flavor is consistent with the aroma. This is a creamy Blanco with a lot of spice and cooked agave. Well done
Lote 103 140721 Nose- surprisingly subdued, agave, ground black pepper, baking spice, grass, apple, and honey. Taste- more black pepper, seeded jalapeno, agave, anise, grass, minerals, and some alcohol. Medium mouth feel. Finish- loooooong and spicy. The alcohol heat lingers in a good way. Value- it hits a price tier that removes it from every day enjoyment but this is an outstanding liquid so... let's say it's a value if I'm flush lol
Agave, vegetal, and alcohol aromas. Taste has agave, pepper and some minerals. Long peppery finish. This a good high proof Blanco!
Another winner from Cascahuin, balanced between citrus, spice, cooked agave with a touch of floral. Beauty
Licorice is definitely the aroma and pronounced flavor upon opening before breathing. Agave and mineral is present. For a 48%, burn is undiscernable from a 40%.
Nice even tears and legs. Cooked agave on the nose with an interesting lactic quality there. The taste is agave dominant with a hint of cinnamon and pepper. Medium peppery cinnamon finish with a nice touch of alcohol heat. I tasted this one blind and it was a real treat!
An amazing brand that never disappoints regardless of the expression you taste.
That aroma! agave on full display. High proof so heat is there but definitely a treat. Another phenomenal product from NOM 1123. Picked it up for around $50
Tons of agave followed by black pepper & a sweet lactic funk smell I’ve yet to find in any other tequila. Taste is just as good. There’s a sweet lactic taste, followed by agave, citrus, slight pepper & some mint. A touch of alcohol on the back end. Overall one of my favorite blancos
LOVE this!!! So much cooked agave goodness!!!
Oven roasted agave feels the air when you open the bottle. Aromas of cooked agave, lime, herbal, cardamom, walnut, coffee, honey, vegetal, pepper, anise, mineral, smoke. Palate is full of heat in a good way with sweet agave, alcohol, mint, minerals, and green banana. Finish is subdue and sweet that makes you want more. This is addictive !
Aroma : Vegetal, herbal, and grassy aroma packed with cooked agave. There is also some underlying pepper and licorice. Taste : Agave, black pepper, vanilla, mint, and citrus notes. Lightly sweet and oily in the mouth. Finish : Warm and peppery with plenty of residual cooked agave, and light spice. I'll need to keep my eye out for more Cascahuín. This is only the 2nd bottle I've tried and both are (in my opinion) better than a fair amount of the NOM 1579 tequilas.
Re-evaluated since my video review. - A lot of sweet cooked agave on the nose with some slight vanilla cream, light pepper, spice, a pinch of smoke, definite alcohol, and anise. Vegetable and slight citrus. Taste is some heat, anise, sweet agave, vegative, minerally, with a pinch of ftuit. Heat on the backend to the finish. I love this blanco, and maybe my favorite Cascahuin blanco
Cascahuín Plata 48% This 96 proof lowlands tequila has a great nose of strong fresh agave, herbs, light citrus, muted white pepper and alcohol. I taste mint, cooked agave, pepper and alcohol. The finish is full of bright agave and a pleasant warm tequila hug. This blanco is worth your money. I’m glad to see higher proof tequilas become more common. !Salud! AustinTequilaConnoisseurs
Served in a Stölzle mezcal nosing glass. Nose is massive, fresh agave and subtle notes of licorice, the 48% comes through with presence. Quick hit of pepper, transitions into cooked agave. The high abv is nuanced, not overwhelming as the nose would suggest it might be and the heat rides through the mouth, over the tongue and sits on the back of your throat for what feels like ages. It’s a top 3 blanco, hands down.
As a fan of high-proof blancos, this one is amazing. Terrific nose. Vegetal, baked agave, grass. It has a wonderful lactic aroma. Crisp and clean. It really coats the palate. Agave, pepper and a hint of citrus. The high alcohol makes it linger, which is fine by me. Stunning.
Right up my alley, tons of agave off the nose and a vanilla-wasabi thing going on that makes me want to smash the whole bottle in one sitting. Stay tuned for a follow up rating when I make some cocktails.
Lot 6, sampled at Distillery Visit September 2018
Vista: A glint of silver. Very slow thick tears. Nose: Big bold aroma. Baked agave, hints of herbs, olives, licorice, cinnamon and fresh cut grass. Ripe vibrant fruit note and a touch of pungency, minerals. Some Cascahuín signature barn funk. There is alcohol here, but it is merely the vehicle delivering the goods. Palate: Great! Banana/vanilla, agave, pepper, mint and grapefruit peel. Viscous and natural agave sweetness. Finishes in a lingering fashion with warming heat, significant pepper, some alcohol and spices.
The aroma had loads of agave with significant notes of citrus along with some grass. Flavor is packed with agave and some grapefruit along with a hint of pepper. There is also some sweetness from cooked agave at the front of the palate Flavor is long lasting with lingering sweetness from the agave and citrus. It does not taste like a high proof blanco. I really enjoyed this blanco, it’s one of the best I’ve had.
A very aromatic tequila, this higher proof blanco really shines in the aroma and taste department. Rich roast agave notes on the nose lead to a nice naturally sweet taste in the mouth along with a big alcohol punch that fades to slight bitterness. Not available in the US.
Cooked Agave, Grass, wet Soil,
Sweet agave with citrus on the nose. A little spice in there too, but not so much where I’m afraid to take a sip. Oily mouthfeel with some heat upfront, but the heat kicks up a notch as the flavors kick in: agave, citrus, minerals, pepper and some vegetal elements in there. Fortunately, the flavors aren’t overpowered, but damn that burn is good. If you’re looking for a higher proof tequila, look no further.
This high proof blanco is a agave bomb very pleasant on the nose. Cooked agave from start to finish excellent high proof tequila!!

Rated this blind as the top HP blanco of a 6-set tasting, really surprised by that. Very inviting fresh aroma of agave, grass, and citrus. More citrus, pepper, and brine on the flavor. Long finish.
