we've had a few bottles of porfidio since 2013. they do not have a NOM on the bottle (read about the porfidio conspiracy) bottle numbers of the two I have currently are 10,193 and 14,826 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-news/latest/discussions/review.html?id=3194 one of the bottles we tried was an anejo "Puerto Vallarta" another was just "jalisco"

NOM 1462 | Aroma: sweet butterscotch, citrus and agave. Palate: agave, citrus, caramel. Finish: some spice, butterscotch and caramel.

Lots of oak - not terrible, but disappointing, if you like scotch buy it

This añejo starts slowly; weak on the nose, just "ok" balance of flavors, but the finish is strong. Oak and barrel spices dominate this añejo

Tastes like it has agave nectar mixed in... A bit disconnected, overly sweet and too mellow. Good bottle design...Lot no. Ma el 0102.

Aroma: At first, there's a really unusual scent. But, as time goes by it mellows and you start to get notes of oak, caramel and honey. The unusual scent is still there but not as prominent. I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is but if I had to I would say paint. Flavor: It's a lot more mellow than I was expecting. It has notes of caramel and cinnamon. I still am thrown off a bit by the unusual aroma note as it presents itself in the flavor on the finish. Finish: The finish is nice and long with it really staying in your mouth and not so much in the back of your throat. Besides the strange flavor note it's a decent finish.

Bottle number is 13,274. Aroma is very oaky with vanilla and pineapple underlying. There is a strange petrol/rubber scent noticeable as well. Thick, oily texture coats the tongue. The strong peppery spice of the blanco is still there but dramatically reduced. Vanilla, oak and spice are present in the flavor. The aging certainly helps tone down the beast in the blanco. A nice sipper but it does tend toward a whiskey-like flavor and finish.

NOM 1462 | Lote: 34561, marbete is from 2003. 40% abv. 500ml. olive color bottle without cactus inside. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: stone fruit sweetness, sprite, good sweet sour & acidic balance, very light vanilla, it has an aromatic wood note that I am not sure if it is natural. Alcohol sensation is medium to low. Light sweet floral note & light sweet cooked agave note. Palate: light sweet cooked agave, floral note through retronasal, light vanilla & wood note, good sweet sour & acidic note. Finish is medium to medium long, light sweet cooked agave, sprite and an aromatic note persist.

I don’t understand. I agree with the majority of reviews I read here on most Tequilas. This one is NOTHING like described. Extremely floral in smell and taste.. almost cheap perfume. Gross biting sharp pine aftertaste. I imagine this is what pinesol would taste like. Mine is bottle 16,677.. no NOM number on the bottle?

It has a nice Carmel and a soft hint of vanilla

Martin Grassl knows exactly what he is doing! Simply one of the very very best. If you want to impress a woman this will do for sure.

very fruity

Tasted a bottle of the "Super- Jalisco" single agave, single barrell variety so technically this is not a tequila. Bottle number: 17,138. Heavy oak nose and flavor. Almost indistinguishable from a whiskey. On my 2nd taste I thought it might be a rum or a whiskey finished in a rum barrell.

NOM 1462 | Tasted more like a mezcal than tequila

Bottle # 08872 Nice sweet buttery aroma, heavy body with a long finish. A good tequila but better options at this price point (my opinion).

I have a bottle of Porfidio Reposado from 1994 given to me as a gift. I don't think I'll ever open it since it is not in production anymore.

Nice oak flavor Hold in your mouth longer for more pepper. Very nice Hand to drop down the score since its not really tequila... It's an agave spirit
