Dried fruits, oranges, cinnamon and light oak on the nose pave the way for oranges, cooked agave, black pepper, and tropical notes in the mouth. Like the Reposado, my only gripe with this bottle is the value when bought in the US.

Very clean for an Anejo, good acidity/ tropical flavors, balance and light wood notes. Good value coming out of one of the top distilleries in Jalisco

Sooooo different than the repo, it’s hard to believe this is the same juice! Really hot off the nose, kind of turned me off as I didn’t get much of the roasted agave reward I’m looking for. Soft and easy to drink, mellow aftertaste that doesn’t get warm until it hits your stomach. Brine & grass are up front which is unique, I like this but don’t love it(age hater).

The nose on this is amazing. Citrusy, orange peel and dried fruit and toasted nuts. The palate was very oak forward. Dried cherries and fruit. So many layers to discover with this. Excellent añejo from Cascahuin.

Round ripe fruit starts the aroma. Bold agave with nutmeg and cinnamon follows. Almost perfume like floral presence. A trace of a pungent note. Black pepper heat and agave sweetness with a honey like coating on my tongue. Nice citrus notes including orange peel. But I’m not getting all of the subtle spices and fruit on my palate, as I did on the nose.

Loads of agave, followed by sweet fruit on the nose, cinnamon apple and brown sugar. Notes of pepper, agave and spice, with a warm mouth feel through a pleasant finish.

Smell is a bit plastic, not nearly as good as the blanco. Blanco from this nom is so damn good. Mildly smoky in the smell, but some boozy heat. Bought at Agava Liquors in Puerto Vallarta.

Soft agave smell with some heat and barrel. Smooth taste with nice barrel in the back with some vanilla and heat. Into a nice agave and heat finish that is quenching. Not exactly an anejo but tasty.

I love the aromas of hazelnut and creamy butter. I get a lot of mint, minerals, mild barrel flavor on the front. The finish is mild. Great Anejo. I love comparing this Anejo to other valley añejos at my bar.

Very very oaky, again with the lavender notes, though the initial flavour is a little too strong for me, smooth aftertaste though would still prefer the blanco.

Nice wood but light for an anejo. Vanilla Taste is cooked agave. Crème brûlée Nice warm finish.

Such a pleasant well rounded Anejo. For the money it’s hard to beat. Not too barrel heavy and the mild finish. Very good

I wasn’t expecting anything special from this based on the nose, but the palate is way more interesting. There’s a ton of thick and creamy vanilla, butterscotch, nuttiness (almond), fruit, pepper, and caramel with a perfect amount of cooked agave still present. I’m picky when it comes to añejos and I’m glad this isn’t over-oaked. The finish sticks around just long enough to appreciate the lingering vanilla. Tasting this immediately makes me want to start exploring the rest of the Cascahuin line. I found this for $51.99, and if the rest are equally as good then I just discovered my new favorite brand for the price range.

Loads of tropical fruit on the nose: pineapple, coconut, and banana. Black pepper, oak, and citrus also play a role in the aromas. There is a bit of ethonal presence, but that only marginally takes away from the sublime nose. There is a good deal of oak influence on the taste. Vanilla, coconut, caramel, and baking spice, but the agave flavours are still there. The finish is medium length with oak and citrus being the stars of the show. At $75 Canadian, this is a no-brainer. incredible anejo for the money.

Cascahuin - you’ve done it again. I can’t even precisely place the flavour that hits the middle of the palate; it’s like a blend of coffee and toffee. Spectacular.
