Aroma: Butterscotch, cooked agave, and cinnamon spice, hints of orange zest. Taste: Sweet across the tongue with a stronger taste of the agave and cinnamon. A nice viscous consistency. Finish: Slightly vegetal agave finish, with an accentuation of the cinnamon spice, with some Mexican chocolate flavor on the end. Overall: An amazingly good tequila that reminds me of the Código 1530 añejo in both aroma and taste, but with a different finish. Lots of flavor throughout, a new one to add to my favorites.

Aroma : Agave and baking spices alongside light oak and caramel. Taste : Sweet agave, butter, and vanilla meld with oak and some light black pepper spice with a well bodied texture. Finish : Long, and showcases the barrel flavors as the agave sweetness fades.

Deep color for an anejo. Terrific caramel and vanilla nose with a tiny hint of alcohol. Finish is sweet and slow with black pepper and anise

Deep amber color. Thick, oily body clinging to the glass. Initially I get sweet on the nose, caramel notes, which quickly moves to agave and and sweet candied fruit. Really enjoyable. Upon entry, it’s velvety with a round mouthfeel. I get tannins, vanilla and light butterscotch. Transitions to notes of agave and spices before ending with pepper and a knife enjoyable heat on the roof of the mouth. Finish is complex and enjoyable.

Butterscotch aroma. Earthiness. Nice barrel/baking spices. Round oak and anise flavors. Rich dried fruit notes. Subtle touch on the French oak, letting the other barrel influences share the stage. Lengthy delightful finish with subtle pepper undertones and butterscotch reemerges. Did I say long finish?!?

Aroma: Slightly oaky with hints of pepper and honey. Flavor: Oak flavor upfront and then a hint of vanilla and caramel. Finish: Long lingering finish that stats with a nice kick upfront.

Sweet aromas of caramel, vanilla and maple syrup. Flavor of sweet fruit and syrup. This one is so sweet it nearly makes your teeth hurt but is tempered (only slightly) by a trace of spicy heat. While it is enjoyable, this one is just too sweet for my taste. For those who say it can never be too sweet (you know who you are...) this may be just their cup of t - equila.

Nice amber color with great legs in the glass. Aroma of oak, butterscotch and agave. Flavor of cooked agave, oak, caramel and black pepper. Others have mentioned a watered-down finish and I agree.

Nose: agave and sweet vanilla, probably one of my favorites Taste: smooth has a bit tingly feeling and watery finish. For the price I think there are better options but I’m not regretting trying this one.

Unique aroma profile and it certainly has a one of kind taste (at least based on my experience). Maybe brought out by the different oak barrels, as someone else said? But it’s O-O-OOOAKY. Maybe a little too much.

Easy smooth drinking. A bit too oaky for my tequila taste which makes it a little more like a whiskey. Has a bit of a watery finish which isn’t bad but isn’t great either. I’m not sure I’d buy it again but I wouldn’t pass on it either. We bought it in Puerto Vallarta

I really like how dark and rich this is without the use of additives. I’m picking up some dried fruit/leather notes that compliment the usual añejo profile of agave, spice, and caramel. The French oak aging also makes this sweeter than the American oak I’m used to, which I personally enjoy. I have to say I prefer this much more than the blanco. I picked up some funky notes in the most recent bottle I had that I’m not detecting here, although some of the minty/herbal notes are still coming through. Overall one of my favorite añejos (or even tequilas) I’ve had!

very balanced and complex. a beautifully crafted tequila. amazing bouquet of cooked agave, butterscotch, baking spices and vanilla. I would have liked a little more agave but there was an even long agave finish that was still very good.

Nose- sweet, cooked agave, light brine and dried fruits. Taste- caramel, cooked agave, butterscotch & cinnamon. Finish- agave with a light black pepper. Oak lingers with a faint butter tone.
