Tons of cooked agave, slight herbal note, cinnamon, faint (white pepper), amazingly sweet and oily in the mouth from the super mature agaves used. The finish is very, very long. Sweet cooked agave all the way.
From blind tasting: Aroma: Cooked agave, Citrus, anise, slight pepper Taste: Matches aromas The finish falls flat..not much of a mouthfeel as it’s “watery.” I feel like it’s a little too smooth but still great overall.
Relatively light color for anejo. Nice legs. Great clarity. Nose is subdued, which I like in anejo and XA. I get an interesting grilled pineapple smell on this + cinnamon + soil. Much more citrus forward and less oaky than I expected. Tastes of light wood, lemongrass, black pepper. Not vanilla at all for me. Not super complex. Really light barrel hand on this. Modestly long finish that doesn’t change much, but is very pleasant indeed. I’m a fan. This is a blanco drinker’s anejo.
