The aroma opens with apple-pear brightness, astringency, oak, cooked agave, maple, walnut, citrus, sarsaparilla, and an earthy undertone. At 110 proof, it carries the expected heat, though slightly more restrained than the Blanco and Reposado. On the palate, oak and anise come through immediately, followed by peppermint, caramel, cooked agave, prune, roasted hazelnut, and cacao. Unfortunately, a sharp astringency cuts through and becomes hard to ignore. The finish brings orange citrus and lingering cooked agave, resting in earthiness—but the final sip reveals a saccharin-like note that felt harsh and unwelcome. I really wanted to enjoy this as much as the previous 110 offerings, but for me, it doesn’t quite reach the same level.
