Alcohol, medicinal, astringent, fake fruit finish. This is what diffuser/column distilled tequila tastes like

I do not care for el jimador and never have liked it since i started drinking Tequila 20 yrs ago. my rating here on TMM is for their current diffuser crap. this being said, I tried a sample of the 2001 blanco, thanks to junior zander. here's my review for the 2001 blanco... the nose is fruity and pleasant. some yeast, a little agave on the palate and some pepper on the finish. I would rate this 2001 expression low 80s, which is much different than I rate their current juice. Note: Herradura was all stone/brick ovens and roller mill prior to the diffuser. Apparently, they installed the diffuser around 2001. so zander got one of the last good bottles!

Retasting the blanco. Aroma has some hand sanitizer and green agave. Taste is suspiciously sweet bit decent agave flavor. Finish is rough. Medicinal aftertaste.

Lots of pear in aroma. It could be from additives to mask the diffuser.

This isn’t as bad I remember, tons of mint and sweetness. Makes a decent margarita but don’t serve this neat to anyone who you want to come back to your house.

I let it sit for a bit before tasting. aroma: alcohol but as if this was a mouthwash (not overpowering but you know it's there), sweetness maybe cooked agave, a hint of vanilla taste: alcohol, very soft and subdued flavor profile, mint, sweetness There's better options out there, I probably won't drink it unless it's my only option.

Its aroma has a faint hint of something familiar. After a few seconds of puzzlement, you’re suddenly disappointed to peg it as finger nail polish remover. Upon tasting it raw, the disappointment grows. But, at least its flavor is weaker than the remover. There are worse tequilas. Hiding this tequila in a margarita works about the same as hiding an old sock in your fresh laundry. That sucker still makes itself known.

Not Worth It Nose: Strong alcohol dominates, with barely any agave or citrus notes. Taste: Harsh and one-dimensional, with a metallic aftertaste. Texture: Thin and watery, lacking smoothness. Finish: Short, bitter, and unpleasant. While it’s cheap, the quality isn’t there—even for mixing. Skip this one and look for better options at the same price. Rating: 3/10.

Lower rating but seen this at most if not all bars. Fairly smooth especially considering it to be a fairly cheap price. There is better but if you are willing to sacrifice quality for price would recommend.

Good entry level tequila, perfect for mixing. One of the few slightly sweet blanco tequilas. Good value for price. Tequila for mixing and ok for sipping

Surprisingly mellow smell outside of the strong alcohol, but a very peppery flavor and not much else. Could do worse for a mixing tequila, but you could also do a whole lot better. Not even close to dethroning Lunazul as my go to bottle under $25 though.

Great value white tequila. Can’t detect additives, pretty clean and alcohol forward with a small hint of cooked agave/vanilla and fruit maybe like apple

Harsh. This one needs to go in freezer to mellow its edges. Don’t recommend for sipping or mixing.

Very peppery. Definitely not a sipper. I didn’t shoot it, but it would be ok for that. I had it in margaritas. It was almost flavorless in the pre-mixed margarita mix.

Too spicy. Pepper, pepper, and pepper... and alcohol. Mixing or in freezer, when the peppery can be reduced. Shot or mixer. Don't recommend sipper.
