Mexican 38% abv. versión, LOTE 06/02, marbete is from year 2000, tasted on 8-29-24. Color: yellow. Aroma: hint of cooked agave, hint of vanilla, light acidity, hint of citrus, hint of earthiness, light dirt aroma like many other older bottlings. After 20 minutes the cooked agave note becomes more noticeable and slightly sweet. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance. Finish is medium to almost medium long, hint of cooked agave, light vanilla, light citrus with earthy & dirt notes persist.

Mexican 35% abv. versión, LOTE B06/22, tasted on 7-26-24. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, light sprite sensation, hint of acidity, light citrus, hint of lemon, hint of earth, hint of white floral aroma, light resinous sweetness, however, after 20 minutes in the glass a hint of agave fiber aroma emerges, this aroma many times I associate as an additive. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, it has a slightly creamy mouthfeel which is quite rare for a 35% abv. distillate, although the aromas felt quite natural, however, on the palate at the end I felt an aspartame sensation and I discovered that additives have a weird tendency to "lift" intensity of flavors and aromas through retronasal after drinking while non additive tequilas tend to maintain flavors and aromas and gradually lower its intensity. Finish is short to almost medium, hint of cooked agave with the slightly unnatural sweetness with light citrus notes persist.
