Price is right, but it's hot and rough on the finish. As a mixer, yes.
Ranch Alegre has a sharp attack on the nose and lemon, earth, caramel notes on the palate. The finish in bitter and boring, but for $10 this is a budget friendly blanco for shooters and margaritas! Put this side by side with Avion!
Mexican 35% abv. version, LOTE R01?14, marbete is from year 2002, tasted on 10-26-24. Color: very light yellow. Aroma: light cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, light acidity, hint of aromatic green vegetal notes, hint of fruitiness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, aromas and flavors are present but subtle, and although the abv. is low, however the alcohol sensation is medium. Finish is medium, hint of cooked agave with a hint of aromatic green vegetal note persists but not too long. Ends a tad bitter.
Ethanol on the nose. Light mouthfeel. A bit harsh - not a sipper for me.
House tequila at El Matador in Newport. Pretty decent all around. Great in their margaritas and ok as a sipper. It’s listed in TequilaMatch maker as mixto but says 100% agave.
