Aroma: Citrus and floral first impression. Then earth and limestone and brown sugar tinged agave. There is a rich fruit scent that I can’t quite pinpoint, and some spiciness. Flavor: Spicy pepper and cinnamon, creamy sweet agave, light colored tree fruit. Lively palate feel. Great value tequila at $302 pesos per liter. From the same folks that make another great bargain lineup for Sangre Alteña.
Nose: Baked agave, spices, minerals and root vegetable, cooked pineapple and citrus. Flavor: Bold black pepper and baking spices. Light butterscotch and vanilla. Moderate heat to this one, and trace bitterness. Not quite as interesting as the Blanco, IMO. This is a value tequila and packaged in a liter bottle. It picks up points at a price point of $323 pesos. Decent, but don’t expect a life changer.
