Vessel: Glencairn Nose: vanilla, floral, minerality, cream soda Mouthfeel: Extremely light-bodied and delicate Palate: cream, vanilla, black pepper, earth, Cinnnamon Finish: vanilla, agave, cinnamon, black pepper, earthy There was not much of a grand mystery in this one, and that's perfectly fine. What I got on the nose seemed to be in line with what I experienced on the palate and finish; maybe a slight progressive influence of earthy flavors, cinnamon, and black pepper came to light. All in all, it seemed that the vanilla, agave, and cream notes were by far the dominant theme in this spirit. Am I mad that this was not more complex? Hell no. I'll never be mad at simplicity done right. Salud!
Subtle agave nose, muted palate and poor finish
Strong agave on the front palette, disappears a little down the middle with slightly watery melon & almond. Alcohol comes on at the very end but leaves almost as soon as it appears. This is a very likeable Tequila, subtle flavours and a short finish.
Nose is bright, floral, agave, spice, very nice. Pallet is light cinnamon, anise, agave, not bad but a bit thin/light for my pallet personally. Still nice a nice sipper though.
This is absolutely delicious, sweet cooked agave, with some nice spice, light pepper. Over all very pleasing, with nice long lingering finish
This special edition Calle is quite the treat. As part of their 20 year anniversary they blended theee blancos together to make this special edition and special it is! Beautiful agave and floral nose with mineralality, a touch of vanilla and tropical fruit. On the tongue, the flavors explode in your mouth and the sweetness of the agave comes forward to greet your palate. Like the nose, the mouth has a touch of minerality with light mint and cinnamon. I get fruit and citrus followed by a little black pepper. The finish is very clean and the viscosity is right in the middle between thin and creamy. A super nice tequila.
Nose: sweet cooked agave (huge) / caramel/ vanilla/ apple / floral / lime / bell pepper / jasmine/ cream soda Taste: sweet cooked agave bomb! / vanilla/ pepper / cinnamon/ banana/ melon/ apple/ cherry / lime/ lemongrass/ tea/ chocolate (how does it have chocolate notes without barrel aging? Is this barrel rested short term?) Finish: this has a powerful flavor finish / low viscosity- watery clean, but with a small lingering mouthfeel This blanco has me perplexed. It’s a special edition that aims to honor it’s tequila making tradition. But I can’t find information about it even on the Calle 23 website. The chocolate taste surely comes from a barrel resting period. Or does it? This is so sweet, delicate, and delicious.
NOT the Final Product!! Equal parts of muestras B C D. Nose: Lemon/lime, cinnamon stick, anise and powdery vanilla. Warm fruitiness with pineapple and orange standing out. Sweet cookie spices. Trace earth/mineral presence. Buttered broiled mushrooms. Timid aromas build and blossom given the chance. Flavor: Nice palate feel. Vibrant baking spices and pepper punch. Oily, buttery, dense texture. A fruity medley starring ripe agave. A touch of brine. The luxurious almond, vanilla and dried cherry custard finish goes the distance. The combined muestras far exceed their individual contributions.
Aroma: agave, black pepper, citrus, fruit, herbal Taste: agave, citrus, minerals Finish: balanced medium finish
I think there was probably a missed opportunity at a slightly higher abv. I’m still a fan of Calle 23 but unfortunately it’s not available in Texas so w shipping it’s not the best value.
L2153D1LC stamped on the bottle, tasted on 12-7-24. Aroma: cooked agave with light raw agave, herbaceous, hint of pepper, light acidity, hint of citrus, after 20 minutes in the glass it becomes slightly sweet. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, herbaceous and mineral notes slightly dominate. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of cooked agave, hint of raw agave and green vegetal notes, herbaceous and mineral notes persist.
Tasted in Chisholm Trail Jarrito Aroma: Very Sweet Cooked Agave, Vanilla, and Citrus(Lime) are at the forefront. A balance between the Earthiness and Cinnamon mix well together. Minerality plays it's part as well. A little Vegetal note steps out along with Anise. There is also an Herbalness and Sweet Mint component. And an ever so slight Floral tone. Taste: Sweet Cooked Agave with the Citrus and Vegetalness come quickly. Minerality in this is very pleasant. Mint and Vanilla have their do as well. Cinnamon mixing with a little White Pepper give this that spicy touch, but not over the top, more refined. The Anise gives enough balance to the sweetness with that little touch of bitterness. And the Herbal flavor blends with the Floral to give a nice feminine touch. TMM 87 Salud!
Aroma: cinnamon, raw agave, vegetal, alcohol, aroma is kind of bland not much going on besides the notes , Taste: alcohol, it’s kind of bland some vegetal notes raw agave, some almond notes The aroma is much better other than that kind of bland not much going on easy supper but nothing that really stands out as far as how it’s sold it’s was a limited release where some cases of regular Calle 23 included this but I belive like 1 bottle and some places have been selling it in a package to get this.
A very special treat from Calle 23! I had the pleasure of first trying this with Sophie not too long ago. It is a fantastic blanco made from agaves grown in three different regions. This was made by Sophie as a tribute/thank you to the bartenders who have supported her brand over the last 20 years. Tons of cooked agave sweetness with chocolate hints and a little bit of citrus notes. A delicious and lengthy finish. A phenomenal tequila made by an even better person!
I had the privilege of trying this in a large tasting at Savia Agave Niche in PV. It was enjoyed along with Fortaleza Blanco Lot 150, Calle 23 Criollo, Amatiteña Origen 98, and more. This one stood out from the rest, and in a good way. It was most similar to Lot 150 from Fortaleza, but the pallet was sweeter. This is a very Sweet blanco, vanilla forward. Not overly complex. I believe this would be a great introductory tequila for someone who is new into additive free offerings. An amazing value at the retail price.

I get a lot of vanilla and cream soda, pepper and cinnamon with some light minerality. A little watery compared to some others. Very solid.
