As much as I love their añejo, I will have to revisit this one and change my score. But for now I'm getting lots of leather, cigar, and a ton of sweet dark chocolate. I think this brand used to be Kosher. But detecting something not so kosher going on.

A surprising departure from their anejo. I found this extra anejo far less sweet than their anejo, and more nuanced. Although I will give Insólito’s anejo offering the edge for having a more fragrant nose, as opposed to the anejo, this XA still has an agave forward palate along with the barrel influence one would expect from an expression aged four years in new American oak. Dried fruits, caramelized sugars, vanilla, apricots and agave. A mid range finish closes out a solid new offering from Insólito!

Light, sweet aroma. Very light mouth feel. Smooth and sweet with just a hint of agave. Light finish as well.

Agave, dried fruit and cherry on the nose and taste. A little pricey. The glass was a Chisholm Standard Proof Jarrito.

Aroma: An underwhelming aroma with hint of dried fruit & honey. Taste: light blend of honey, caramel, vanilla, apricot & green apple Finish: balanced medium finish with hints of apricot, raisins. Overall: Good XA but at $149 left me with taste of little more to desire.
