Tasted at Sip Tequila Fest
Something almond/cherry going on here that I don’t love. Still roasted agave to be found on the nose, but I’m not getting it anywhere on my tongue. I had huge hopes after trying the blanco, this just doesn’t have the same charm.
Nose: vanilla / sweet agave cooked / caramel/ butter / cinnamon/ banana/ melon / hint of tangerine/ anise / hay / nutmeg/ chocolate/ molasses/ maple syrup/ cream soda Taste: sweet agave cooked / vanilla/ anise/ caramel/ very light cinnamon / banana/ melon / hint of lime / hint of tangerine / hint of spearmint/ peppermint / tea / nutmeg/ chocolate/ molasses/ maple / cream soda Finish: very low viscosity mouthfeel/ not quite watery/ enjoyable agave, vanilla, and cinnamon keep a very big brand taste grounded with some very tasty barrel notes. Lingering sweetness and vanilla keep going while the cinnamon and pepper notes are incredible and let balance/contrast of sweet and spicy ride off into the sunset. This reposado’s one BIG trick is the sweetness that is balanced with barrel notes that keep it from flying apart. The united flavors blend into a singular taste of agave/vanilla/cinnamon that is so enjoyable.
Nice nose with agave, oak, cinnamon earth and minerals The taste is agave forward with butterscotch, oak, cinnamon, vanilla and butter. This is a very good repo but there are better from 1414.
Cinnamon, Oak and Vanilla on the nose with some burnt sugar you may find in a toasted marshmallow or creme Brule. clinging to that strong sweet potato scent you get with cooked agave. Taste is incredibly smooth and oak forward a little hint of hay and a finish that remains true to the nose. I get strong roasted marshmallow on the finish. This one is lovely to the very end. Solid Repo here!
Good barrel notes if you like your Reposado to lean more wood than citrus, light cooked agave, spicy. Nice finish.
Nose- light cooked agave and alcohol. Not much being picked up. Palette- Green apple, cooked agave, cinnamon and pepper. Finish- great cooked agave, great mouth feel with a nice lingering pepper
I tried all three expressions at the 2023 LATF industry party and really enjoyed them. I will revisit and add my notes when when I get more revisited April 2024 Repo lote 2 40% 4/8/24 Chocolate cooked agave champagne yeast? barrel spices a little cinnamon. Yeast dissipated as it opened. Dry finish
Sweet aroma tinged with agave. Very clean up front. Remarkable amount of flavor in this, relatively, pale Reposado. Fruit, vanilla, and cinnamon on the tongue. Ever changing. Lots of pepper at the end fading rather quickly though. Not lingering.
It has cooked agave and carmel throughout. Peppermint and orange peel in the finish.
Jack Daniel’s Barrel Strong bourbon barrel on the nose. Sweet cooked agave forward. Nice sweet barrel notes on the finish.
The first thing I notice is the aroma – a rush of cooked agave, bright citrus, and a peppery kick. Taking a sip, the cooked agave is there again, front and center, followed by that same black pepper spice. Then, I get a distinct oaky note. What's really interesting is how it plays out on my palate. It feels like it's building up to something, almost like it's going to get really hot and spicy, but then it just stops right at the edge. Instead of a burning sensation, it leaves me with this smooth, sweet finish. It's a really cool, almost teasing sensation.
Very subtle aroma. Smooth taste with a little sweetness and spice in the flavor and finish.
LOT No. 04 BOTTLE No. 1383
Soft agave, sweet aroma. Pepper, cinnamon, smoky flavor. Mild finish.
This was my first time trying any expression from Lost Lore. My favorite local tequila bar got a small sample bottle from a friend and we poured it out of a tiny sample bottle marked up with a Sharpie…They way I prefer to try tequila for the first time! I was very impressed with this repo. I’m typically a blanco drinker (especially high proofs) but I found this to be very enjoyable. Great nose with cooked agave sweetness, cinnamon and pepper. On the palette I got lots of cinnamon, chocolate, black pepper, honey and a bit of cardboard-like dryness on the finish. Overall, very well done by Lost Lore and the folks at 1414!
This one has a great nose a lot of agave a little bit of caramel a hint of cinnamon. The taste is agave forward which I really like I get a little bit of cinnamon and vanilla butter ! The finish is long and dry This is a fantastic reposado
Lot 2 bottle 480 Very sweet like a candy apple on the nose, vanilla, caramel. Nice spice, pepper, mixed with sweet agave , short finish, with a slight tart pear tone. Great sipper. Cinnamon lays in there in middle. Excellent
Lost Lore Reposado Nose: Minerality, cooked agave, cinnamon, baking spices, and bit of hay and barrel notes. Tangerine citrus and faint hints of chocolate. Plenty to enjoy. Taste: Medium viscosity and a nice round mouthfeel. Bajed agave, cinnamon, light carmel, nutmeg, and citrus and barrel notes. Clean and enjoyable, but overly remarkable. Finish: Nice swetness that carry with cinnamon, pepper, and baking spices.
Oak and cinnamon. Nice repo.
lot 2 bottle 1000 a little too oakey for me personally.
Really like all that lost lore is doing, acquired a case mixed with their blanco and reposado. Little lighter on the agave side but smooth taste on the end. And excellent sipper
Aroma: Agave, Vanilla, Citrus, Oak, Caramel, Floral, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and White Pepper Dried Fruit and Almond Taste: Agave, Vanilla, White Pepper, Oak, Caramel, Citrus, Almond, Floral, Barrel Spices, Dried Fruit
I really like this repo. It’s on that softer side, I find a lot of repos pull too much spice from the barrel… this one not that much.
