Very impressed with this brand. Great nose with agave, minerals and earth. Floor is on point with nice cooked agave some minerality that flows into a nice earthiness and and bitter chocolate. Very nice.
The barrel smooths some edges from the tasty Blanco and adds some nice flavor of its own. Cinnamon and some caramel carried by a punch of ethanol make for a great experience. Tiny bit of bitterness on the finish takes a bit from the score. Thanks Tom
Aguasol repo nom 1123 tasting June 11 2024 sample from Tom H. Thank you Tom! color is light. legs are not as pronounced as with the blanco nose: slight barrel spice, fruit, caramel, melon, a little alcohol that is not offputting and fades quickly palate: sweet cooked agave, mild oak, barrel spice, some minerality and green apple finish: medium other: i assume they used exhausted barrels or only aged this for a few months because there isn't a heavy barrel influence, which I like. this is a very easy sipper and would also be great in cocktails, and the price is right. extra points for value.
Nice light barrel nose. Easy going palate and nice finish with a slight pepper finish. I like this much better than the Blanco.
Nose: Agave, salt/brine, oak, mint, melon Palate: Anise, black pepper, oak, cooked agave Finish: Light viscosity, no heat, flavors quickly dissipate
Aroma: oak, caramel, agave, honey Taste: agave, black pepper, caramel, oak Finish: medium finish with caramel, oak, black pepper. $45 from Total Wine. I did prefer the Reposado over the Blanco. Good repo for the price.
Lote 477 23/12/23 Aroma: Some melon (cantaloupe?), stone fruit, and white pepper on the nose. Flavor: Light honey sweetness with agave and a touch of caramel. It does have a tingle of alcohol burn, but it's not overbearing. Mouthfeel: Also light mouthfeel. Finish: Long lingering finish that finishes sweet and compliments the aroma and flavor. I really like this Tequila. It's easy to find in Texas and reasonably priced for a NOM 1123.
Tried in a sample cup. This had a stong alcohol punch that over powered the rest for me. There is some agave and vanilla in there but I prefer the blanco
The aroma is unique - kind of fruity and banana like mixed with cooked agave and hints of vanilla, chocolate, and oak. Flavor is earthy, peppery, with a bit of alcohol and metallic to it. Finish isn't bad - a bit of metallic and alcohol.
I prefer to drink 2 oz of it over one ice cube. A bit more intense flavor than the Blanco. Very smooth finish for a tequila. Slightly more expensive than the Blanco making it a good value but not as good as the Blanco for my money.
Aroma - sweet agave, vegetal. Savory. Taste - tangy, minty, herbal. Minerality. Finish - light spearmint lingers. Mixed with pepper. Those of you who like G4 and Volans, will like this. Similar vegetal and herbal tasting notes. Decent value. Not very sweet, more on the savory side.
Aroma is agave forward with slight oak pepper. On the palate it is great agave- wet grass- light oakiness- numbing peppery finish. Delicious!
Single Barrel - Aroma: Cooked agave and vanilla, underscored by warm notes of caramel and a touch of toasted oak complemented by a soft spice like cinnamon. Taste: On the palate, it’s smooth and well-rounded. The agave’s natural sweetness is beautifully balanced by flavors of vanilla, honey, and butterscotch, all wrapped in a gentle oak influence from the barrel aging. Finish: The finish is long and warm, with the rich caramel and oak notes lingering, alongside a soft spice that fades into a creamy vanilla aftertaste. It leaves a dry mouthfeel with zero tingle.
Mesero -Dallas $14/serving Very nice aroma. Mild agave. Pepper finish lingers.
Cooked agave comes through immediately on the nose, along with hints of vanilla and oak. The taste presents a mild cooked agave with mild pepper and grass. It’s very herbal with earthy tones. The finish is mild with minimal viscosity but lingering alcohol.
High value for aged 1123 product. Better than the Blanco
