Nose: sweet cooked agave / caramel/ vanilla/ butter / banana/ melon / licorice/ tea / baking spice / chocolate/ maple syrup/ honey / cream soda Taste: sweet cooked agave / caramel / vanilla / hint of cinnamon/ melon/ anise / tea / peppermint/ baking spices / molasses Finish: a light viscosity and bold flavors of caramel and vanilla linger throughout this very good finish that favors the sweet over all other flavors on the last swallow. This extra anejo has some enjoyable and engaging sweetness that’s supported by strong caramel and vanilla notes that are in harmony with the baking spices that round out each sip. A very enjoyable finish brings the whole experience together.

Very tasty XA with dried fruit sweetness that’s very easy to drink. If it wasn’t for the cost, I would say this is a great XA to introduce to non-tequila drinkers.

Tasted during LA Tequila Fest weekend. Very welcoming crew from Cabal. XA has those rich barrel notes you’d expect. Will need to revisit for a full review.

This one only comes in the horse head bottle. Cool AF matte black bottle. A bit pricey, but doesn't disappoint. Mocha, berries, nutmeg, cooked agave, snickers, nice complexity and finish. Solid line so far.

The black horse bottle carries this 36 month aged spirit. I’m first met with dried fruit and dark honey. There’s a mixture a cooked agave, butterscotch and oak. Then there are hints of orange bitters and a pleasant natural sweetness. On the front of my palate I get some thin sweet cooked agave but on the mid-palate it turns into a full bodied and rounded experience of orange zest that then turns into a hot cinnamon and then dark pepper followed by some oak. The sweetness lingers along with some oak, pepper and a bitter dark chocolate note. The finish is on the shorter side but it’s a flavorful XA.

A lot of wood on the nose, sweet oak on the palate, spiced up agave, faint citrus followed by a drying finish.

Acquired mid 2022. Color: medium brown. Nose: earthy, mineral, very slight cooked agave, more wood spiciness. Palate: wood spiciness, minerality, slight green herbal, very little cooked agave & sweet vanilla. Finish is medium, wood spiciness and vanilla persists.

Not just another beautiful bottle, this Tequila Cabal extra Añejo is full of flavor. Aged for 3 years it’s beautifully rounded and tastes of cooked agave with hints of orange, banana, baking spice, black pepper and light bourbon barrel oak. It has a pleasant natural sweetness and is a delicious XA sipper.

nose is a delight, well rounded bouquet of top notch XA notes. the agave is present (wich alot of XAs lack] roasted oak, banana, prunes, dates and vanilla. I love the fact that even tho it drinks like a bourbon, the agave is front and center. banana nut vanilla bread. im getting a floral taste i can't quite decipher and the right amount of heat. mouth coat is superb. the finish was not as desirable as I expected, I did not like the bitterness left behind. smoky like a scotch.
