Aroma opens with cedar, a spike of ethyl, and a touch of yeasty funk. On the palate, delicious petrichor, cooked agave’s raisin sweetness, light caramel, vanilla, cedar, and bread. Black pepper, faint floral tones, subtle fruitiness and a soft buttery edge. The finish lingers with cooked agave, light mint, bready yeast, mixed florals, and a creeping trace of dill.

Beautiful nose of agave, oak, caramel and vanilla. Dried fruit. Cherry and flowers The taste is sweet agave followed by oak. We have vanilla and caramel. I have pepper and a touch of hay. The finish is pleasant with slightly thin mouthfeel. It is lasting with final notes of pepper and a touch of alcohol. This is a very nice repo.

Nose: sweet agave cooked / caramel/ butter / melon / cherry / grapefruit / hint of lemongrass / tea / hint of nutmeg and baking spices / butterscotch/ hint of molasses/ hazelnut Taste: sweet agave cooked / caramel / vanilla/ cinnamon and pepper / oak / banana/ melon / lime / grapefruit/ lemongrass/ tea / peppermint/ nutmeg/ molasses Finish: crisp clean water feel / a touch of viscosity / lingering sweet and pepper notes. A slight bittersweet lingering taste. This reposado has a lot of agave and vanilla to challenge the mild pepper notes. Just a hint of cinnamon rounds out the peppermint like finish and leaves an interesting bittersweet taste on the final swallow. This is another very nice tequila from NOM 1414 / Sergio Cruz.

There's a lot going on in this reposado. It packs character that I might expect to find in an Anejo or Extra Anejo. Caramel on the nose, sweet cooked agave, cinnamon and oak as well. In a blind, I might be fooled as to what expression I am actually drinking. That said, it's well rounded and a very impressive reposado, especially for the price!

Blind tasted: Showcased the basic framework of a modern reposado and profile felt watered down (easy to drink)

Soft nose, little funk to it but clean agave. Calmed down after a day. Soft all around. Decent finish. Easy to drink. Not my favorite 1414 offering but I’m in the minority here

Aroma is light, lot of caramel/vanilla to me smells like additives, palate is ok, similar to smell caramel vanilla some pal, smooth and silky but not much agave or herb/floral flavor, losing a lot of the plant/natural stuff i like here, not my favorite personally

Initial impression is that this is a really nice, inoffensive reposado.

Did not expect this to be as good as it is m Really well balanced between agave, wood vanilla and caramel. Definite recommendation for your collection.

Oh my goodness, so good. Smell of agave, slight oak, little vanilla, loads of pepper. Taste is similar agave, slight vanilla, punch of pepper on the finish. It’s a perfect balance of agave and sweetness. So good.

There’s still cooked agave in the aroma, which is great. The added aromas of toasted oak bring another layer of interesting complexity to the blanco. I’m still getting the grass in the aroma, too. Flavor is cooked agave, caramel, butter, with the caramel and butter lingering in the finish. An extremely pleasant tequila with some natural sweetness.

Tropical fruit, cinammon, and burnt caramel aromas from the char. Sweet cooked agave flavor, like the blanco. Caramel finish. Very nice.

A very serviceable repo. A good amount of agave on the nose along with oak, caramel, metallic. Those notes are a little less prevalent on the palate. It has somewhat of a thin mouthfeel and the desirable promise of the nose doesn't fully stand up to the heat. despite being slightly unbalanced, it is still fairly enjoyable to sip and has just enough complexity to keep my interest.

I agree with Jose that the taste profile feels a bit watered down, though the finish is amazingly long - especially for fans of black pepper! A superb value for this affordable Reposado price point, though…

Aroma: Sweet cooked agave and Oak are the first things to hit the senses. As it opens up, Vanilla, Butterscotch, and Caramel can be detected. Cinnamon and Black Pepper are also present. As it continues to spend time in the glass, some of the Citrus(Lemon Peel) and Vegetal qualities come out to play. The more you let it sit, the scents of Dried Tropical and Fresh Tropical Fruit mix with a light Floral note. Taste: Again, the backbone of Sweet Agave and Oak are the first to greet. Vanilla, Butterscotch, and Caramel mixing with Cinnamon are co-mingling on the tongue. The Tropical Fruits definitely enter as it gets to the mid-palate. Blending in with all of these sweeter notes, there is a light grassy, herbal, and minty flavor that comes into play. On each sip, everything became, Sip, Taste, Repeat... Finish: The finish was quite long with a nice spicy Cinnamon note hanging on with the sweet Agave and Oak. The Tropical Fruits and Vanilla were also part of the ride. TMM 87

Beautiful, light, crisp, with an earthy minerality. A wonderfully affordable repo ($47, Ferment and Still and $40 @ Saratoga Wine Exchange). Extra points for value. Nose: Cooked agave, straw, and an earthy minerality up front. Subtle presence of toasted oak, cinnamon, and pear or pineapple. Very clean. Palate: Silky, buttery, mouthfeel with a slight warmth. Up front there is roasted agave, a little oak, butter, and pepper. A pleasant balance of minerality and earthiness. Suble fruit notes appear, then fade quickly. Finish: The buttery, mineral, and pepper finish reside for a medium to long finish. Reminds me of ArteNOM 1414.

On the nose is sweet cooked agave, some oak, and a hint of dried figs. On the palate...agave, some minerals, sweet fruits, and some brine. A bit lighter than expected but overall, delicious!
