Tasted at Sip Tequila Fest A very oak driven anejo with a substantial amount of caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, and fruit. Curiously, I picked up a tremendous amount of cherry in this anejo comparable to something one may expect in a Buffalo Trace bourbon. Not too sweet, unlike Viva Mexico’s anejo which I tasted along with this, but still a complex profile with much to unpack.
Cooked agave, honey, oak, carmel, and stone fruit on the nose. The mouth feel is balanced and medium bodied, not too light, and not too thick. On the palate and finish, I get more butterscotch, maybe even a little butter too, carmel and oak. This sip was quite pleasant!
Nose: agave sweet cooked / vanilla/ butterscotch/ caramel/ pear / hint of melon / orange-tangerine/ tea / floral / nutmeg/ molasses Taste: agave sweet cooked / vanilla and caramel equally/ butterscotch/ pear / tangerine/ hint of grapefruit/ spearmint/ tea / nutmeg/ chocolate/ molasses/ Finish: a very light viscous mouthfeel creates a very pleasant platform for the rich agave, caramel, and vanilla flavors to launch from. The final swallow has lingering sweetness and vanilla. This anejo is nicely weet and offers rich flavors throughout the whole taste. The clean finish with lingering sweet notes rounds out this enjoyable anejo.
fruit on the nose. Unique nose. Palate isn’t bad. I like the nose better than the palate but overall it’s nice. I am enjoying the aged offerings
Tasted at the Agave Bros Añejo event
Tasted at LATF.
Nov 18, 2022 tasted at distillery. such an amazing tour. good tequilas! jan 2025 tried new batch at the cellar cabo I really enjoyed this. sweet agave barrel notes, nice finish. easy sipper. adjusting score up because I liked this a lot
An elegant Añejo. Many times an añejo will be too okay, too sweet and whiskey like. This añejo is very earthy to me which is amazing. It’s a sweetheart earthy, mineral flavor for me.
Light in style, I like the little touch of sweetness and cooked agave. This one is a nice sipper.
En nariz: Roble, vainilla, miel, butterscotch, cerveza, sidra En boca se confirman deliciosamente los aromas, resaltando la fresca e intensa cereza.
Atanasio Anejo I smell cooked agave, light honey and dark brown sugar along with a floral note. I taste the sweet cooked agave and then some allspice with the cinnamon punching through. I then get a light American whiskey note ( oak barrel and whiskey ). The body is nice and the finish is pleasant but light. This is a good balanced Anejo where you can enjoy the age and agave equally. Well done Atanasio. Salud!
Lots of Berries and oak stand out on this one. Very enjoyable sipper
Bottle 92, Lote 1 Nose: Ripe berries, melon and a suggestion of hard cider. Cinnamon, and an aromatic blend of allspice, powdered ginger and nutmeg. Background aromas of butterscotch, vanilla and caramel. This is all held together with an oak presence that does not overwhelm the agave. Flavors: Vibrant and vivacious profile. Caramel with assertive pepper and cinnamon. Yet sits nicely on the palate with silky fruit notes of cantaloupe drizzled with honey. Finish: There is butterscotch retrohale, with pepper and light salinity. This loses some points on price point. It is nearly double the price of the repo. But a fine tequila, none the less.
Caramel Vanilla Cinnamon Nutmeg
flavorful clean and long finish. An excellently made añejo that checks all the boxes. Agave throughout vanilla throughout that evolves into butterscotch cinnamon oak baking spices and still agave till the end. I’m also getting a nice texture and heat that doesn’t let you ignore that this juice is not your average bear.
caramelly agave mild pepper mineral scent. agave butterscotch floral honeycomb orange peel flavor with mild white pepper on the finish.
Strong wood/barrel on the nose, as well as caramel/butterscotch, dark chocolate Taste is sweet and pleasant: caramel/butterscotch, nutty, agave, buttery
Nose is cooked agave, caramel, vanilla and honey. Taste is cooked agave, vanilla and oak. The glass was a Chisholm Standard Proof Jarrito.
Complicated nose. Not overly sweet. Slight hay, grass. Sweet but lots of vegetal and hay mixed in. Complicated flavor that I could drink multiple times and keep tasting more flavors.
Tried at Atanasio Distillery on 9/13/24. Creamy and delicious. Agave, caramel, vanilla and oak. Even better in the agave field. Great tour!
Deep and sophisticated, this anejo features an aroma of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and rich spices. The luxurious mouthfeel showcases a harmonious blend of roasted coffee and oak, leading to a long, elegant finish with hints of caramel and vanilla.
vanilla caramel aged in american oak and bourbon barrels after it breathes, some orange notes
Aroma: cooked agave light , oak, wood, pepper, orange, honey, some berry note and cherry, I got some lavender light , alcohol, vanilla, caramel Palate; wood, cooked agave, clove, honey, alcohol, nutmeg, vanilla, citrus, baking spices, caramel, lingering warm finish , with some pepper and clove, A really nice añejo definitely more wood and baking spices agave is there though a nice sipper, I visited the distiller and it’s a very small operation I also had another batch of añejo and it definitely had some notes that I mentioned more in your face this is nice some of their batches are known to be malolactic this batch was not. If you like añejos or coming from whiskey this will be a nice one to try
Hint of butterscotch and baking spices, dried fruit, a little raisin on the finish. An enjoyable Anejo made by a reputable brand!

A nice sipping anejo that is agave forward with tons of barrel notes that follow. Nose: cooked agave, oak, caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple. Palate: a lot of the nose follows through to the palate with cooked agave, oak, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and some whiskey. This anejo has good sweetness that is not overly sweet with a great mouth feel on the finish. Very enjoyable.
